Book Description

December 11, 2002
THE WORD: Welsh Witchcraft and America By Rhuddlwm Gawr, Taliesin Enion Vawr, & Merridden Gawr. Introduction by Sarah Llewellyn Book Three of The Quest Trilogy Many avid readers have awaited publication of The Word, part three of the Quest Trilogy. This is the most comprehensive book ever published on the practice of Welsh Witchcraft, and is one of the few books that teaches the basic spirituality of the Craft. It discloses why and how Welsh Witchcraft began. It reveals the religious practices and explains the mysteries of the magical rituals. It demonstrates initiation and guides the reader through that ritual as well as the arcane teachings. The Word establishes the claim that Welsh Witchcraft is a remnant of the ancient religion of Hyperborea and Atlantis.

About the Author

Taliesin, Enion Vawr, is a ninth level Elder in his familys tradition of Welsh Witchcraft. He was born in North Wales in the 1920s and raised by an aunt and uncle in a small village near the town of Betws y Coed. It was here he learned of his familys heritage of Druidism and Welsh Witchcraft as he met Y Tylwyth Teg (Welsh fairies) at Fairy Ring near Betws y Coed, and swam with the water sprites in the local river. He spent a great deal of time with his aunt who was an herbalist and elder of the Dynion Mwyn tradition. He learned of the energy of the mountains through doing "Cave Workings" and hiking near Mt. Snowdonia. In 1963 while visiting friends in Bangor, he was inspired to begin teaching the first class from outside the family. (Taliesin taught the Old Ways until 1992 when he turned over the leadership of Dynion Mwyn to his sister who became chief elder until she died in 1999. Taliesin was responsible for opening up the Welsh tradition to outsiders. His dying wish was that the basic philosophy of the Welsh tradition be available to all through the Internet, and that seekers be given a "Taste of Wales" through home study classes. He died in January 2000.)Lord Rhuddlwm Gawr and Lady Cerridwen Gawr, of the United States, inherited the leadership of Dynion Mwyn. Rhuddlwm Gawr, BLA, D.D., N.D. was initiated into the Dynion Mwyn tradition of Welsh Witchcraft in 1966 and is an authority on the ancient Celtic mystery religions. He draws extensively on his Welsh, English and Native American ancestors in relating the various philosophies inherent in the religion of Dynion Mwyn. He is an author of several books, a successful lecturer, and holds degrees in Environmental Design, Naturopathy, Religion, and Computer Technology and is even now completing studies toward a Ph.D. in Psychology. In addition to formal academic training, Rhuddlwm has intensely applied himself to the study of Metaphysics, Occult Mysteries, Parapsychology, western and eastern philosophies, world histo

More About the Author

Rhuddlwm Gawr is an author of over twenty books with such diverse titles as "the Quest", "The Way" and "The Word" and "Celtic Crystal Magick I & II". Rhuddlwm is also a Celtic and Reiki healer, Witch high priest and elder, and certified Mediator. He is an authority on ancient Celtic mystery religions including Welsh Traditions of Paganism, Witchcraft and Druidism. He is schooled in ancient Welsh magickal practices and modern behavior sciences, and has studied with native American medicine people as well as a Welsh "shaman". He has a Ph.D. in Psychology, a D.D. in Theology, a BLA (Bachelor of Landscape Architecture) in Environmental Design and Ecology and an AA degree in Computer Systems. Rhuddlwm has been a lecturer at numerous conferences and has been published in several Pagan journals.

Rhuddlwm was born in a small Florida town and attended the University of Florida. He joined the US Marine Corps where he completed various computer, aviation, and communications courses. Upon his discharge, Rhuddlwm worked in the Caribbean as a Electronics Field Engineer and then transferred to Europe where he worked with the US Air Force on Top Secret Nuclear weapons sites. It was on the Island of Majorca in the Mediterranean sea that he met his teacher Sarah and began his Quest for the Grail. At the completion of his assignment, he traveled to Wales, studied and was initiated. He returned to the US where he joined NASA as a field engineer. Over the next several years he was assigned to many government and private projects.

He incorporated The Church of Y Tylwyth Teg, Inc. in Georgia and organized the Association of Cymry Wiccae which received a 501 (c) 3 Tax Exemption in 1976.

Between jobs with NASA and IBM, he attended the University of Maryland and acquired a BLA at the University of Georgia. He finally retired from his mundane profession in 2001.

In 2003, he was asked by his traditions elders to organize a Dynion Mwyn church in the U.S. and took over as temporary director. Due to this additional workload he turned over the operation of the Church of Y Tylwyth Teg, Inc. (YTT) to his wife Merriden in 2003. She continues to lead YTT today. The Celtic Church of Dynion Mwyn is now being successfuly lead by a Board of Directors.

In addition to his academic training and vast life experiences, Rhuddlwm has intensely applied himself to the study of Metaphysics, Occult Mysteries, Parapsychology, Western and Eastern Philosophies, World History, Biblical Studies, Comparative Religions, Cults, Anthropology, Archaeology, and Quantum Physics. Many of the insights presented in his books have come from his years of meticulous research and investigation into ancient Mystery Religions and the modern psychic world as well as drawing extensively from his Welsh, English and Native American ancestors.

He has a ninth level initiation from the Welsh pagan religion of Dynion Mwyn and is an elder of both Y Tylwyth Teg and Dynion Mwyn. Through living the teachings of the Gwyddon he has accomplished many of his life goals and continually creates new ones. He is an author of over 23 books on Welsh paganism and Witchcraft and has presented workshops on Welsh Witchcraft and Druidism, since 1966. He is also author of "Understanding Earth Religions - a Law Enforcement Guide".

He is founder and director of The Association of Cymry Wiccae, Inc., a national association of Witchcraft and Pagan Churches and Support Groups; founder of The Gathering of the Tribes, Inc.; founder of Camelot Press Group, Inc.; Director of The Celtic Church of Dynion Mwyn, Inc.; founder of The Church of Y Tylwyth Teg, Inc.; founder of Dynion Mwyn Yahoo Groups in every state; and Co-founder of The Universal Federation of Pagans.

Rhuddlwm has retired but continues to write and makes his home in Northwest Georgia. He has two daughters and a son.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lies, lies, lies, October 2, 2003
By
Gareth (Betws-y-coed) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Word: Welsh Witchcraft, The Grail of Immortality And The Sacred Keys (Paperback)
I am Welsh - Cymro glan wyr o Ynys Mon, parhaf yn Saesneg.

The other reviews on this page have been written by the author of these books. None of them are Welsh and his views and cult are entirely rejected by all Welsh people. In fact this group has no members at all in Wales and does not represent and genuine tradition at all. The author, whose real name is Bill Wheeler, has never visited Wales in his life and the character Taliesin Einon Vawr is simply a figment of his imagination.

His writings are such a drag - they do nothing but say how wonderful he is.

Don't buy this book if you want to learn anything about Wales. The only thing you will learn here is that the author wants your money. If you are really interested in Wales join rhuddlwm@yahoogroups.com

1.0 out of 5 stars ???, October 27, 2003

This review is from: The Word: Welsh Witchcraft, The Grail of Immortality And The Sacred Keys (Paperback)
The author is an American who has hardly visited Wales in his life. His knowledge of Wales is abysmal. He has a handful of books concerning our country. The rest he makes up. If you ever get to reading the book this will be obvious to you.
