5.0 out of 5 stars My Favourite WordProcessing Program, February 25, 2006
This review is from: WordPerfect Office X3 Professional Upgrade [OLD VERSION] (CD-ROM)
Corel have done it again. WordPerfect remains the easiest wordprocessor on the market to use, as it continues to have the most important feature of all, reveal codes. The X3 tweak to the interface is visually pleasing. The metadata removal feature is vital in the present climate. It relates efficiently with the PDF format. Having used lots of wordprocessing programs over the past 25 years, WordPerfect remains my favourite.

5.0 out of 5 stars WordPerfect Office X3, January 28, 2007

I bought the Professional package, which adds Paradox to the plain X3 package. I've been a WordPerfect user since its earliest days, and it's easily the most powerful word processor on the market. It can read and write several file formats, although its own is far superior to all the others that I've used. It will save in PDF format by "publishing" a PDF file. The output looks just like the printed page. Opening PDF files, however, is still not what I'd like. Don't expect a lot there. WP's native macro language is incredible. I learned programming with it, and have a document creation program written entirely in WordPerfect that would make many people's mouths drool. Quattro Pro equals or exceeds the several spreadsheets I've used, although I don't use as many functions as an accountant, for example, might. I haven't used Presentations, but I opened it, and it certainly matches the Lotus product for features. It also opened a Powerpoint file. The one program I'm not overly happy with is Paradox: It's too esoteric for someone not familiar with its language. However, I did set up a database file rather easily. If I were more familiar with database programming, I might find it easier to use. It's the only reason to purchase the Professional package, and unfortunately I can't recommend it. But I can highly recommend the rest of WordPerfect Office X3.
