5.0 out of 5 stars This is the way to go
Napalm Death is a traditional thrashing, lashing death metal band. The songs on their other CDs almost sounded one-dimensional and repetitive. The songs sounded as if they had spent 5 minutes on them, the writers not taking their time, totally tearing in each song. But with this CD, I am VERY impressed. The songs are fresh and although not as thrashing and lashing,...

1.0 out of 5 stars what happened here
I do not know what happened to this album. This is not grindcore at all. I wish this was like scum, from enslavement or even like harmony corruption. This album is to slow but heavy but does not cut it at all.

The songs sounded as if they had spent 5 minutes on them, the writers not taking their time, totally tearing in each song. But with this CD, I am VERY impressed. The songs are fresh and although not as thrashing and lashing, they still have the same hard-hitting sound that makes you wanna bang your head. And if you thought this was Napalm Death planting their tombstone, think again.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Clever Bunch, May 19, 1999

These guys continue to amaze. Just when you think the band maybe washed up and done with, they come out with a real gem. The recording sounds phenomenal! Crisp in your face blows with heavy bass. But whats incredible is they continue to write good material. One song after another. To blast this on an excellent sound system is truly amazing. This is their best release in a while (in my opinion). Clearly haven't lost a step. They continue to own a percentage in the underworld!!

...because I was just playing this album in my car and involuntarily banging my head until it nearly flew off. If you're looking for a band that plays uncompromising, unrelenting metal simply because they feel like it, you can't do any better than Napalm Death. In a grindcore genre too often defined by gross-out vocals, one-note guitars, and all-too-brief songs, Napalm have crafted a superb technical statment. Yeah, the songs on "Words..." are all pretty much the same, but the level of creativity and musicianship here on display more than makes up for any deficiency in the diversity department. Every song on this album boasts an absolutely crushing groove, and the mix of Barney Greenway's leather lungs and the technicality of the music is mind-blowing. There is not even one second of filler on "Words From the Exit Wound;" hell, it's worth checking out even if only for the title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight, April 23, 1999

I purchase each new Napalm Death album with increased skepticism. I hear bad reviews, I see the band aging, and I wonder if this will finally be the album that lays them to rest. Each time, I am totally overwhelmed. I hug the jewel case tight and apologize profusely for doubting them. Seriously, this album annihilates heads. I didn't think they would be able to outdo Inside the Torn Apart. Maybe they haven't, but they certainly haven't disappointed, either. And Barney works in some new vocal tricks that will have you guessing first, and chanting along later. Five *enthusiastic* stars, this album is as fun to listen to (or more so) as any other ND piece.

A blistful sound created by Napalm Death. This album drives a hard sound desired by most metal fans. They are true to form. Will not disappoint!

4.0 out of 5 stars Another chapter for a band that continues to maintain a mostly steady career..., July 24, 2005

I have to admit that when a band starts...they usually start off decent, great or terrible. Then, the band usually continues to improve/degrade the sound that they started with depending on how they started. I've heard so many bands that have started off so crappy and have made themselves respectable and I have heard bands where they started off excellent and basically made a decline. Well, I'm glad to say that Napalm Death doesn't really fall into either category. They have for the most part of their career...consistenly put out good music. This CD is just another regular Napalm Death CD and won't really change your opinion on the band too much. It just remains testament to the fact they are a good band. Infact I gave this CD a "4" because its just a normal Napalm Death CD...which is still better than most in the genre.

I LOVE THIS CD. This is my first Napalm death cd and I am in awe. They are absolutly infectious. The musicianship of the band is great, everything very tight, and great production, as well as great vocals. Maybe my favorite grind album ever. \m/

5.0 out of 5 stars SWEET ALBUM, September 1, 2001
This review is from: Words From the Exit Wound (Audio CD)
First off, I would like to ask why is this album supposedly "out of print"? I bought this album at Media Play two weeks ago! Anyways, this is the only Napalm Death album I own so I cant compare it to previous releases. All I can say is this is a sweet death metal album. Good songs= "Affixed by Disconcern" and "infiltrator" although all songs are awesome. Oh and see them live this fall opening up for Six Feet Under. They are gonna tear up the stage.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Napalm Death I own, February 26, 2001

Words from the Exit Wound is a great cd. Buy it now. A lot better then their previous release, Inside the Torn Apart, which is also great. Every song on this cd is awesome, with tons of catchy riffs. Not to mention Barney's voice is the best in the genre. Well anyway, buy this cd. It also has live versions of Hung, Greed Killing, and Suffer the Children. That had better convince you, eh?
