My daughter is four years old and we just got this book. It seems to be only so-so for teaching sight words, but I'm giving it four stars because it's the best thing I've found on the market.

I want to let you know that the older version of "100 words" that Scholastic publishes is not a workbook...it is a resource book for teachers, so it has fewer pages. Initially, I was confused about that and ordered the older version by mistake.

Update: When we finished this book, we moved on to the next book in the series... "2nd Grade," but it just wasn't as relevant developmentally.

My son, who is in Kindergarten, has just finished this workbook. He loved it, we are now moving to the 2nd grade book. He is now a very confident beginning reader. I love this series.

My son likes this book very much. It collects 100 basic sight-words and provides vivid exercises for them. Kids remember those words forever after the fun study. My son's interest is high and is eager to explore more. I hope the author had put more words and pages. To continue the learning, I find Beestar's weekly practice very nice (www.beestar.org). Its word challenges are just about right. My son is doing fairly well thanks to the nice start from this book. Highly recommended.
