This is a very wonderful book for those in search of a more spiritual and grounded lifestyle. It's dailyentries encourage serious thought, support positive life changes, and reinforce your efforts. I would highly recommend it to young and old alike. It's a great gift for the right person.

This book is one of a handful I keep on my nightstand. It's designed so that you can read an entry each day. Each day's entry presents a quote from one of several religious or philosophical traditions, and presents Easwaran's thoughts on that quote. It's a pleasant way to expose yourself to traditions you might not otherwise learn about, and also helps you to keep in daily touch with your spiritual goals. Easwaran's interpretations are insightful and down to earth.

My wife and I have had this book on our breakfast table, by the bed even on the back of the toilet for over 10 years. It still inspires us!

I really liked the book. The short passages and Eshwaran's exposition on those are great - short and sweet. However it is good to know where Eshwaran's coming from - his philosophy, ideas and interpretation. So I would recommend reading one of his other books such as Conquest of Mind, his interpretation of Gita, before this one. That said, this is a great book and very meaningful and enjoyable on its own.

Meant to be read each day. Sometimes good, sometimes no. Over time, however, it helps me look at life differently.
