Writing both the music and the lyrics for her songs, Cindy Walker's singing on this Sony CD captures your attention while she steals your heart. No wonder so many of her songs have gone from country to popular standards. Move over Cole Porter and Irving Berlin; like you, she's here to stay. Thank you Sony for this tribute to greatness.

When Willie's tribute album to Cindy Walker first came out to such good reviews I thought that I had better obtain something of the lady herself. Coupled with her death it became a necessity.The prices quoted were too high for me so I ordered on the Amazon search area. It has taken two years(?)but a copy was finally located and arrived a week or two ago from the U.S.A. It is a lovely example of Cindy's best known work. It wasn't until I searched my database of CD's in the writers section that I found out how popular she was with singers and how often her work was sung by others. I shall treasure this CD for (I hope) many years to come. |
