Excellent insights in to how Napoleon thought as things actually happened. Only fault is there are no sources so you can't judge what is reliable and what is not. But a worthwhile addition to any Napoleonic library.

Despite some minor editing issues, and the weird idea that doing without footnotes makes the book more readable, I've enjoyed this collection of Napoleon's words. They span a wide range, from love letters to his wife to opinions about or stern reprimands to his marshalls, and other random thoughts.
