This book is a must read for those wanting to understand our enemies, their goals and the means they are willing to employ to achieve them. From South American dictators to China and the Middle East, this is the first book I have read that lets our enemies speak for themselves, and what they have to say should be a wake up call for all Americans. Rather than listen to the rants of the left or the right, listen to our enemies, they are clear, consise and dedicated in their cause of killing the American way of life. A great read all around.

This chilling book simply presents English translations of what the Islamofacists (or Jihadists, or whatever you want to call them) are saying to each other and what they are preaching to their people. It is quite different than much of what they say to us when they speak in English. True, there are some of the extremists who are quite forthright about their desire to bring about the collapse of America, Britain, and Israel, but rarely will you hear the kind of plain speaking one can read in these pages.

The anti-Americanism is deep and profound as is the anti-Jewish sentiment. Some say that they don't hate Christians and Jews because they are the people of the Book. Well, what is said here certainly raises some questions about that hyperbole. They cannot both be true and I think one can trust what they say at home more than what they say to us.

This also raises questions about our own media and why we rarely get these hate filled words reported to us more regularly and more honestly. Are our media trying to coddle us into their preferred point of view? Rather, shouldn't they report the news and views from around the world and let us decide what to think about what is being said to and about us?

However, the Jihadists only occupy the first seven chapters. China, Putin's Russia, North Korea, Fidel Castro, and Hugo Chavez each get their own chapters. Again, their words for home consumption are much more frank about their intentions than we usually get in our own newspapers and television news.

Get this book, read it, and then talk about it with your friends. Once you are aware of this material, you will view the news coverage you watch and read somewhat differently. Jed Babbin also provides good web sources such as MEMRI that provide material from the Jihadist sites and often provide us with English translations.

Over the last several years books like Babbin's have been popping up like cousins at a lottery winner's home. The message is the same with most of them:
"America stands alone in a global struggle for freedom and 'Judeo-Christian' civilization (whatever that means) against the forces of evil Islamo-fascism (again, whatever that means)!"
There is much truth in the sentiments of that statement, but there is also much fear-mongering. The end result of such a deluge of books like these leaves most people, unfortunately, susceptible to cynicism and wary of the motivations (and funding) of whoever writes them.

Jed Babbin's book is different. Babbin's book concentrates on the writings and transcripts of a host of folks whose opinions of the United States runs from mild disdain to passionate hatred.

What should be most appreciated about IN The WORDS Of OUR ENEMIES is that --unlike someone such as Mark Steyn, for example-- Babbin doesn't merely harp on Islamist fanaticism. There are chapters devoted to the Russians, Latin Americans, Koreans and Chinese. Babbin's reporting on the anti-Americanism of the Chinese is really what won me over in the end. He is one of the few right-wing commentators out there who has the foresight and guts to call the Chinese what they truly are: A people and nation who hold little if any appreciation for America, its people, or culture. He makes it quite clear that China is an expansionist rival for political and economic dominance, a nation which will be the cause of many of our problems in the near future. As someone who feels that the true threat to our way of life is China, I appreciate his position on this matter.

Whether you are of the Left or Right, or any shade in between, this is a book worth reading.

Mr. Babbin has given us another literary gift - a blueprint for what all Americans who care about safety and security must know for our long-term survival - understanding and carefully studing our adversaries. Trust me, the bad guys and our enemies know more about us than we do. So, while the elites in our country continue to support living in a fantasy land the enemies have crossed the borders, broken into our computer systems, and are killing us economically. Read Jed Babbin's book if you care about the roof over your head, being taken seriously as a woman, and appreciate all the gifts this great nation has to offer.

This book provides a valuable insight into people whose every waking moment is dedicated to the destruction of America and the American way of life, and its value comes from the fact that it is unfiltered. What you get in this book is from the mouths of those who said it. You can choose to ignore this book but you do so at your and our peril. In this book Mr. Babbin is telling us what our enemies are plotting against us by writing down what they have said--not what he says they said. All too often warnings of threats are not heeded because the source was biased or dubious. Here the sources are unimpeachable, which makes this a must read.

Anyone who has not yet awakened to the peril we all face as freedom loving people should read this book. One cannot fail to make the comparisons to the years leading up to WWII. The people of the world at that time did not heed the blatant declarations of our enemies, just as most seem to be be failing to take them seriously now. If we do not recognize the warnings now, we do so at the risk of losing our freedom for ourselves and our posterity. For the sake of our liberty and the libery of our descendents, please read this book and keep vigilant.

I found Jed Babbin's collection of speeches and writings by the muslim leaders of militant Islam to be chilling and frightening. They've been preaching death to America and Israel for many years and it's obvious we've not been listening, especially the liberals in this country who don't seem to see any imminent threat, like candidate John Edwards who calls the war on terror a bumper sticker slogan.

Once anyone reads this important 'history' book, their eyes will be opened to what awaits us if we stop paying attention. Jed Babbin has written a book that all Americans should read and become educated as to what Jihad is all about and Islam's plans to launch it, worldwide, and turn the entire planet Earth into a 13th century world.

I recommend it highly!

Reading Jed Babbin's book is like running a video recorder in fast motion past all of the terrorist evil of recent history. It left me drained, but better for it. "In the Words of Our Enemies" is truly a masterful compilation of the twisted logic of tyrants, ideologies and belief systems that aim to destroy us and our culture of freedom and liberty. From the jihadists of the Middle East, to Venezuela's Chavez, and the dangerous aspirations of China, Russia, and North Korea, it is clear that our fate, our duty, is the constant struggle against evil. Jed's proposition is simple: we must wake up and take these enemies of freedom seriously and at face value. We must stop interpreting their acts through our values. Evil doesn't work that way. It is time to arise from our slumber and fight for what we hold dear! It will be our eternal shame if we fail.

This is one of the most timely, but at the same time one of the most scary, books I have read lately and, I believe, tells it like it is. I applaud Jed Babbin for taking the risk of trying to warn America of the terrible threat that is out there and becoming more of a reality every day. I believe every household in America should have a copy of this outstanding book. As a Christian minister I have done considerable research on Muslims and Islam, and find that Islam is not a religion of peace, as many on the liberal side of the spectrum would have us believe, but truly a religion of hate. I fear for this country and for my children and grandchildren. Unfortunately, most of the people in the United States seem to be more interested in American Idol, sports, fantasy, etc., and have their head in the sand as far as the terrible threat that is confronting not only America, but the whole world. Therefore, I say again, we had better WAKE UP AMERICA BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

This category of book--if only they had been written in the 1930s--what we could have avoided in death, maiming and carnage.

This is one of the the best I've seen on the nature of our enemies, with an excellent forward by the esteemed Prof. Gingrich. When the Islamofascists say "Death to America" they are talking about You, You, You, and the "moderate" Muslim (where are they?)

You have no excuse to say, "I did not know"!!! The information is everywhere, and a 10th grader can comprehend this book. We have been warned, over and over, and told, "just keep shopping." Now our defense is being contracted out to foreigners. We are committing national suicide.

Here's a good example, from Must-See Saudi TV II (our allies)...Q: If a child aske[ed] you "who are the Jews, what would you answer?
MAN ON THE STREET: I. Allah's wrath is upon them and they all stray from the path of righteousness. They are the filthiest peopl on the face of this earth because they care only about themselves, Not the Christians (also to be killed--author) or the Muslims or any other religion.....There is a country with a population of over 60 to 70 million, if we let them only march, with no weapons even, they (the surrounding countries-au.) would completely trample the Jews.

Of course, what applies to the Jews applies to all "Kuffar" (non-radical Muslim). Death to all and world conquest. Watch a film about the Holocaust, or look at some photos. What more do you need to know?

Cardinal Niemolloer of Germany was right, we must speak out now. Otherwise, when the come for us, there will be no one to defend us!
