It's like the Savage Garden cd that never happened, April 21, 2003
This review is from: Words in Place of Objects (Audio CD)
Let's begin with a few key facts: Managed, produced, and even some songs co-written by former Savage Garden member Daniel Jones. Lead singer is a former Savage Garden backup singer. Okay, she's female, and some of the songs are a bit edgier than what Savage Garden did. But here's the point: the album is catchy and *fun*. Pleased To Meet You, the first single from the album, can get stuck in your head for days. It's not particularly deep, but then again, it's not as inane as bubblegum pop. It's pop music you can enjoy, but not feel guilty about enjoying. Don't let the import fee fool you--it's worth every penny.

Refreshing pop that was headed in a new direction., May 18, 2008
This review is from: Words in Place of Objects (Audio CD)
From the minute I learned of the bands existence, I was immediately hooked. Their first single was one of the first songs that I ever downloaded as an mp3, and over the next couple of years it was played a lot. Almost three years after the duo split, sadly only releasing this one album, I finally got my hands on a copy of this album and it still sounded as fresh and fun as I remember their singles being. At the time I had purchased the Superhero and Pleased To Meet You singles online for the normal OZ import price of $30 (USD) a piece. I was immediately a dedicated fan and soon opened up the first and only US fan site that had quite a following. Now, six years later, I've just acquired the 15 Minutes single and still have yet to find the Even Without You single. Once a fan of this band, you'll always love them.
