This review is from: Words of Seduction (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
I LOVED THIS BOOK AND SUZANNE AND RICK'S STORY WAS GREAT BECAUSE IT WAS ABOUT SOCIAL ECONOMIC CLASSES AND TRUE LOVE. IT SHOWED NO MATTER WHERE YOU ARE IN LIFE; SOMEONE WILL LOVE YOU.

Words of Seduction is an emotional and HEARTWARMING journey...with an INTRIGUING cast of characters...and little Luke is just ADORABLE...Ms. Girard keeps me turning the pages to discover IF Rick and Suzanne will make it with all the secrets, lies, misunderstandings and the small-minded townspeople CONSTANTLY getting in their way (past and present)...a TOUCHING read.

This story was amazing. It had it all from jealousy, spousal abuse, drama, love and a lot of misunderstandings. I could not put this book down until I finished it today. It reminded me of the old saying that you can't judge a book (or in this case a person) by it's cover. Great story!

I really liked this story. Suzanne Rand-Lyons and Rick Gordon had a brief relationship, when Suzanne was 18 yrs old. Due to the fact they came from different social classes, they were torn apart and Suzanne married Wallace Lyons. Wallace was from the right social background, but he was a womanizer so Suzanne eventually divorced him and moved away.
Now she is back to settle her father's estate and his debt. There is only one man who is willing to help her out of her destitute state, but he has his own agenda. Rick set out to get revenge on Judge Rand (Suzanne's father) and marrying Suzanne is the final step in achieving his goal. There's one problem though, Rick still has strong feelings for Suzanne. Suzanne agrees to marry Rick and become a mother to his young son. She sees this not only as a way of resolving her father's debt, but also it is an opportunity for her to fulfill her dream of being a mother. There's only one problem, it may already be too late to protect her heart. She remembers her mother telling her the way to seduce a man with her words. These are not real words of seductions because it not about sex talk, but more about being loyal, supportive and building your man up when he is feeling down. I think word of seductions was more of a metaphor, because it is actually her actions and not words that were seductive to Rick. I really enjoy this book and there was even one part that bought tears to my eyes, which is not easy to do.

So Much Story Packed into One Small Book,
By Linda Y "always reading" (Columbus, OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Words of Seduction (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Not a lot of seduction or intense heat in this book but the storyline was surprisingly promising with great depth. Socialite Suzanne Rand has returned to sell her family home after slinking out of town from a bad marriage and a tell all book about the small knit community. She's destitute and the only one aware and that can help her is bad boy Rick Gordon who in spite of everyone's low opinion of him has done well for himself. Suzanne and Rick through his young son Luke develop a family bond while battling drama with Rick's mom and wacky cousin along with blackmail and the prejudices from the bitter town who feels betrayed by Suzanne's book. A very well written Peyton Place type book that I enjoyed very much.

No Seduction,
This review is from: Words of Seduction (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
Apparently I read a different story from the first two reviewers. I really like Ms. Girard writing style and have read several of her books and loved them. But this book was missing someting Rick Gordon was a bad boy and returned back to his small home town where Suzanne Rand had also return to take care of her fathers estate. The difference was Rick was a millionare and Suzzane was broke when the opportunity presented it self she accepted Rick's offer to marry him. Which was real silly.
Then at the end of the book you have three people standing around a dead man trying to come up with a story to tell the police how he died. This just doesn't seem logically I was not thrilled with this book at all. I hope the next book Ms. Girard write is a whole lot better than this. Save your money and borrow it or get it from the library.

This book had way too much in common with another one of Ms. Girard's books titled "The Glass Slipper Project". From the scandal that drove a character from town to the house that brought another back to town, the whole sham arranged marriage that turned into love and the elegant rich family from the small town who fell from grace and the poor disgraceful family becoming rich and trying to prove something to the town. I'm only giving this book 3*s because Ms. Girard is a good writer but this book didn't feel like anything new if you've read her other books.

Word Failed to Seduce,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Words of Seduction (Kimani Romance) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book failed to seduce or entertain me. I think the author was trying to do too much. The premise deals with a best selling author coming back home to find herself falling back in love with the town bad boy and black sheep. What the author fails to do is get the reader emotionally invested in her characters. I did not believe that Rick and Suzanne really loved each other or even had any chemistry. Even Suzanne's relationship with her friends did not seem real. In addition, there were way to many loose ends that are not tied together until the last two chapters and then I felt like it was rushed. I'm sure this book was supposed to be a lesson in forgiveness but it was totally lost.
