Words is a little country, a lot of great music,
By A Customer

Sherrie Austin is an artist neglected of airplay by country radio. Songs that should be #1 hits have been simply buried in the heap of CDs between other artists who have made it to the limelight with mediocre music and an excess of record label support. On this album are gems that the public should have heard more of, and never did, singles like "Lucky in Love" and "Put Your Heart Into It." My personal favorite, however, was never even released onto country radio, probably since it leans more toward alternative music, and that song is called "Tenderly." Sherrie can sing it all, and she penned 7 of the 10 cuts for the album. "Words" is an excellent title for this very lyric and well-written masterpiece.

Sherrie Austin's "Words" is one of those rare collections that can be listened to from beginning to end without ever wanting to stop and skip over the "filler." There is no filler! These songs are fabulous, and Sherrie SHOULD be the next Shania, Faith, Martina, etc. Sherrie deserves a lot more recognition than she's gotten. She's great, and "Words"? Well, it's ALL good!

SHERRIE AUSTIN IS AWESOME!!!,

This album is different from other country albums. The songs are all great! Sherrie Austin has a voice that stands out and is very different from other female singers. Her songs are written in a very different style. "Lucky In Love", "Words" and "Innocent Man" are different from any other country song I've ever heard. She deserves more credit then she gets! Even my husband is crazy about her voice and music! She got a style of her own in her music and I think she is far more talented then Shania Twain!!

Definate must have,

On a whim the other day I put in Sherrie Austin's "Words" to study with. Bad idea. This CD is too great to have in just for background music. It ranges from cute and funny (Lucky in Love, I Wanna Fall In Love So Hard it Hurts, Innocent Man) to heart wrenching (One Solitary Tear, Words) to tropical (Trouble in Paradise, You Keep on Loving Me), to tempting seductress (Put Your Heart Into It, Tender Tenderly) all in just over a half hour. This CD packs music for every mood, and is perfect for a mood lifter, or just a sing-along. Fantasic album, if you don't have it BUY IT!! :)

Good solid debut,

Most people don't know who Sherrie Austin is. That's probably because she doesn't get any airplay. And that's really unfair because she's got some gems in her debut album "Words." The first song and single "Lucky in Love" has got to be the weakest link in the chain. Don't judge this album by the first song. The next few songs "One Solitary Tear" and "Innocent Man" are stronger lyrically and musically. Some songs are even dynamite like the title track and the ending "You Keep On Loving Me." Sherrie produces a good solid debut. Now if she could only get some airplay.

Sherrie Rules,
By David Brown (East Meadow, New York United States) - See all my reviews

This CD is awesome, I rate it only behind "Love In The Real World" as a Sherrie CD, there is "Put Your Heart Into It" which ranks only behind "All That Matters" (From "Love In The Real World") as a top flight Sherrie song. "Lucky In Love", "Words" and "Thats No Way To Break A Heart" are not far behind. This is a must have CD, for ANY country fan. If you have no Sherrie CDs, get "Love In The Real World" first (It is hard to get), then get "Words". They both are in my top 5 CD's of the 90s (I have a review of "Love In The Real World" please read about it, if interested). This is the REAL "Queen Of Country Music", not Shania, Faith, or The Chicks. Sherrie Rules.

Right from the get go Sherrie Austin proved she was country's top talent. It's hard to go wrong with songs like Lucky In Love,Words, and especially Put Your Heart Into It.The songs are sassy without being arrogant and Sherrie can cover all emotions from happy to sad in one CD. This CD should have obviously been a big seller if radio would have pushed it more. If you like your music real and fun buy this CD.

I love this album. I don't think I could say anything negative about even one song here. I especially love "Innocent Man" and "One Solitary Tear" because those songs have a lot of feeling. Sherrie Austin has a great voice for country, but she would sound all right on pop as well if she chose that route.
