Review

Life couldn't get much wilder, or more enjoyable, for Tim Smith and his alter-ego, Buck Wilder. His popular children's outdoor book series, including Who Stole the Animal Poop? and The Work Bees Go on Strike teach lessons from the animal kingdom. --Traverse City Record-Eagle

The idea of this story is great; the abundance of illustrations is great for a slow reader; the print is easy to read; and the story moves quickly.

However, the author comes across as amateur, and there are several grammatical/printing errors. For example, "Bear's know" was written instead of "Bears know."

I'd like to give the book 3.5 stars, but I can only do a 3 or a 4! The poor quality of the story bugs me, but other than that, the idea is fine. A nice easy-reading decent story.

My 5 year old grandson loves Buck Wilder books. These are the first chapter books we have read. And this was our first time to use a bookmark as we could not finish it in one sitting. By far his favorite part of the book is in the back where you have to find letters on certain pages and come up with a message. We wish there were lots more of these books, We have read them all!

I love this series of Buck Wilder books. My students are learning interesting facts about wildlife as they read a fun adventure story. The series is fun for both boys and girls, and has no upsetting or violent incidents at all. Good for struggling readers!
