Book Description

July 1995
"Working and living together can present knotty problems. The Partows' helpful insights and advice can help you prevent or unknot these problems."

Paul & Sarah Edwards

Authors of Working from Home and Making It on Your Own

With more than 40 million people working at home, many of them in family run businesses, you may be one of an increasing number of spouses who has the privilege and at times the pain of working alongside your mate.

Cameron and Donna Partow, living examples that "opposites attract, then attack," have struggled through the highs and lows of working together. Sharing from their background of laboring side-by-side in their family business, Partow Communications, they also bring wisdom from couples in corporations and home-based businesses in sectors ranging from information services to restaurant management to multi-level sales.

The Partows show you how to:

Evaluate the pros and cons of working together

Resolve conflict and improve communication

Manage risk

Build accountability without nagging or dominating

Involve children in the family business

Rekindle your relationship apart from the business setting!

"One of the biggest obstacles we had to overcome is one we find among most couples who work together stepping out of traditional roles and allowing each other to work in our own areas of talent. Cameron and Donna effectively outline how to

About the Author

Author Donna Partow is no stranger to the tugs and pulls of life. Her books are born out of a need to evaluate and organize one's priorities, offering practical advice to her readers. Her books How to Work With the One You Love, and No More Lone Ranger Moms were met with overwhelming success and they demonstrate Donna's personal discovery of the need for a network of others around her to support her in the challenges of life.

Another of Donna's books has been a top-seller for nearly three years. Becoming A Vessel God Can Use, is a ten-week study which explores what God is capable of doing through us if we are willing. Using biblical and contemporary examples, including Donna's personal journey from drug dealer to Christian communicator, this book depicts all too well that we are full of God-given potential, we just need to let God work through us.

Her newest book, Walking in Total God-Confidence, is a second ten-week study for churches or bible groups that employs the same winning formula Becoming a Vessel God Can Use. Founded in scripture and filled with inspirational examples, this book introduces readers to the concept of "God-confidence," the unique assurance that God can do what he wants through whomever He chooses.

Donna Partow is the founding member of the Red Mountain Ranch Mother's Cooperative. She is also the author of the best-selling book, Homemade Business: A Woman's Step-by-Step Guide to Earning Money at Home. Her articles have appeared in Focus on the Family, Parents of Teenagers and Home Office Computing. Donna is a graduate of Rutgers University and works as a freelance writer. She is also a popular speaker for women's groups and retreats.

Donna enjoys reading, walking and homeschooling. She and her husband, Cameron, and daughter, Leah, make their home in Arizona.

3.0 out of 5 stars both partners need to partake, April 10, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Work with the One You Love--And Live to Tell about It (Paperback)
A really good book if you like going to therapy. Had some good points to keep in mind and ideas to try out, but unless partner is willing to partake in the reflection and discussion part, not very effective.
