good for extra excercises, January 3, 2007

Very good for extra practice. But sometimes the workbook starts to go over stuff you haven't yet learned about in the book and that can be quite annoying.

I agree with another reviewer on this page. Not enough effort has been put into the workbook in order to ensure that you've actually learned the methods and techniques used in the exercises. Chapter 2 in the workbook and in Piston's Harmony have the same title (Triads), but the workbook expects you to know several things not covered until later chapters in Piston's book. So, if you don't mind reading ahead when necessary and googling what you don't know, then the book is fine, but it could have been made so much easier with some extra effort. I give it 3 out of 5, because the exercises are still fine.
