4.0 out of 5 stars Downhome Juke Blues, January 18, 2009
This review is from: Working for the Blues (Audio CD)
This is reminiscent of the Jelly Roll Kings and includes Sam Carr on drums. The groove is very downhome electric blues and I enjoyed this very much. Dave Riley handles the guitar and channels Big Jack Johnson. John Weston adds the harp and both alternate vocals on all 12 tracks. Thanks to Fred James for producing this and Black magic for releasing it. We need more downhome juke blues like this and I recommend this disc without reservation. If you like the Jelly Roll Kings, you will like this disc as well. Never heard of the Jelly Roll Kings? Check them out immediately for your own good!
