This book would be good for most people, however, I was disappointed that the author glossed over "bullying", which was the issue that made me want to buy the book.

Working with the Enemy is a very good NLP layout for working with most working situations, particularly where the person reading the book might possibly be part of the problem. The author assumes that people are working in reasonable, culturally responsible situations, in which people are judged by what they do.

As an NLP practitioner, I recognize that this book is a very good offering (particularly at the price I paid) for people who need to learn how to order their own behavior in order to achieve their goals. I would highly recommend it on this level.

Unfortunately, for me, it does not address the issue of bullying, which can occur even in corporate-bound situations, but is quite possible in private companies where an individual is given power over others and chooses to mistreat a certain individual (refusing that person privileges available to all others, denying that person advancement for no specific reason, lying to that person--without having been asked-- about what is going on in the company,or about company policy, and telling that person that this treatment is because one person has complained against them, while multiple complaints have been registered against every other employee, without any punitive measures being against them... just to name a few possible crimes). I was really hoping for some guidance on dealing with a bully, as that is where I am.

Although I have used every idea in my NLP training manuals, I am dealing with a bully, and I am not really prepared for that, and had hoped that I would find some help here. Oh well.

I really like the way this book helps me to break down complicated dramas into simple, easy-to-understand "situations." Once I understand the situations, I am much better at responding in a positive and productive way. The author discusses a lot of "difficult" experiences (his own and his clients) and describes how to figure out what is REALLY going on and how to decide the best way to respond (or not respond, as appropriate). It is the kind of book that you keep going back to and re-reading. Each time I read a section again (particularly after a difficult situation), I get more out of it.

I spent 21years in law enforcement working for a department I could not stand. I was ignorant and uninformed regarding my rights to the hostile environment I worked in. I stayed rather than lateral out believing that things might get better, they got worse. I ended up retiring due to anxiety, hypertension, and severe depression. If I had the information this book provided when I started my career, I would still be an officer today.

This book is just great - it tells you exactly how to handle tough to deal with bosses and others. Simple and good ideas, how to implement them, no fluff - though amusing - with good examples. An easy read that will leave you or your friend/partner ready for tackling the problem person in the new year.

As a professional in a setting that often lacks clear duties, I found the majority of this book to be helpful. Despite some very obvious advice there are more positives than negatives. A quick read...a useful resource and reference.

The title sounded very promising, but in reality the book is just a set of recipes, leaving one with a feeling of extremely hurriedly written notes, hurriedly compiled together without any thorough consideration.
