4.0 out of 5 stars Hunted for this
Let the Rivers Run stuck in my mind from the video, so inspiring that it will be played when I leave the church after getting married.I hunted high and low for the soundtrack where I live and was out of luck, but have found it on Amazon and I must recommend the CD for that one song, the rest is good easy listening.

2.0 out of 5 stars Carly Fans buy everything she puts out
I had to buy this CD,even though I knew "Let the River Run"was the only vocal from Carly. But the Instrumental,"In Love"is fantasitic. I just want to know if Carly played the Piano on this song? The rest of the tape is just old songs,"I'm so excited,Lady in Red,"and so on... I was sick with the flu when this CD came out,but I still went to...

4.0 out of 5 stars Don't pay attention to John Bauldie's comments, November 8, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Working Girl: Original Soundtrack Album (Audio CD)
This is an excellent album, and the "na na na" songs that Bauldie denigrates are really quite good. "Let the River Run" is an EPIC song -- not overblown -- and I also like the choir version. If anything seems out of place on this album, it's "I'm So Excited" with its ridiculous lyrics and annoying fake drums. Aside from that song, everything on the album is good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Motivational music, July 24, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Working Girl: Original Soundtrack Album (Audio CD)
In 1991 this album became my primary motivational music that helped me bike more than 50 miles a week and lose close to 50 pounds. I wore out two tapes and tape players in an 8-month time period. If you're looking for something to add to your motivational archive, this is a good one.

The rest of the tape is just old songs,"I'm so excited,Lady in Red,"and so on... I was sick with the flu when this CD came out,but I still went to the record store to buy it on the day I knew it was comming out. My Mom had to drive me to the Mall because I was so sick. But it was worth it when Carly won the Oscar for,"Let the River Run." Fans of Carly were so proud of her that night.

4.0 out of 5 stars Three great songs makes an album! (sometimes), October 27, 2006
This review is from: Working Girl: Original Soundtrack Album (Audio CD)
I primarily bought this soundtrack for Carly Simon's beautiful resounding voice, in the first track, "Let the River Run". Since I heard that theme from watching the movie, I never forgot it....it took me seven years to track down where (this was before the Internet's time) the song's name, and which album it belonged to....but the wait is certainly well worth it!

I'd forgotten how good the rest of the track was: Women in Red, sung by Chris Deburgh is a nice mellow ballad, which I often play when I feel the need to.

And, the Pointer Sister's, I'm so Excited is a fine song to exercise/dance to (as someone eluded to)

you won't regret buying this album!

Fantastic album full of great music. My question is - did she read "The Keys of Enoch" before she wrote this music?

3.0 out of 5 stars RIGHT OFF THE MOVIE..., January 18, 2007

Soundtracks of yesteryears... This one has some great melodies but they were simply "cut-and-pasted" from the movie right unto the CD. Some very nice tunes didn't end very well 'coz, you guessed it, they were meant for the scenes. Would've preferred the score to have its own re-recording.

5.0 out of 5 stars Working Girl CD Soundtrack, November 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

This is music to be played over and over. I loved it when I originally saw the movie years ago, and now I'm thoroughly enjoying the CD. Carly Simon is a true artist, and her music and lyrics so original - unlike anyone else. The conclusion with the Springer Sisters is excellent as well - and fits beautifully with the triumph of a humble girl who rises above her "station" through hard work and a ready wit.
