Working with Images, December 8, 2009
This review is from: Working with Images Paperback with CD-ROM: A Resource Book for the Language Classroom (Cambridge Handbooks for Language Teachers) (Paperback)
This is a wonderful book that provides teachers with the resources to supplement a variety of topics related not just to art, but to history, social studies, and language. For students who have a visual learning style, these images should enliven a variety of topics. The CD is easy to use and the suggested activities can be adapted to many different teaching and learning objectives. It is worth spending some time with this book to become familiar with the ways the images can enrich language, content and critical thinking lessons. It can be used at all levels from elementary to college levels and with students with varying levels of language proficiency. I recommend it for use in teacher professional development courses, as well.
