An excellent book!,

This review is from: The Working Life - A Medieval Monk (Hardcover)
I must say that this is an excellent book. Part of Lucent Books' The Working Life series, this book is an examination of the life of a Christian monk in medieval Europe. Everything is covered in here from the training of a novice monk, through the operation of a monastery, and into the roles that monks often played (scholar, artist, etc.).
As I said, it's an excellent book. Although written for the younger reader, it is a wonderful introduction to the life of the medieval monk, and is sure to prove informative to any reader - young or old. I certainly found this book to be very informative, and don't hesitate to recommend it. I give it two thumbs up! |
