As an owner of several ADBA pit bulls, I am thrilled that at last there is a book out that we can use to help fight breed specific laws in our area. Many of the other books (Like Stratton's and Carl Semencic's) are not the kind of book you would want to take to a town meeting and try and convince them that these dogs can be great pets in responsible hands. Semencic's newest book (Gladiator Dogs) features page after page of snarling, lunging pit bulls. Great! Just what we need! And more dogs on heavy chains like some kind of maniacs! Sure pit bulls must be housed and handled with a little more care around other dogs, but thank you! Diane, for a fresh, intelligent look at our dogs. I for one am donating one to my local library, and sending one to the city council.

What a breath of fresh air in a subject filled with nonsense by those who should know better. I really liked this book, and think every person interested in this breed should read it. It is not like any of the others, and will not make dog fighters happy. Diane tells it like it is, and that is going to hurt for some, but it needed to be said for a long time. Great pictures of bulldogs doing all manner of things, from herding to search and rescue. The pictures are really nice. Next time someone tells you pit bulls are only good for fighting, hand them this book! Enjoy.

A book about our great breed that shows them how they should be,
Great obedient, loving Pets & Working Dogs.
Ms.Jessup provides a view of the breed that has unfortunately
been overlooked by many other writers, the incredible potential
of this breed to be a Loving Pet,Conformation Show dog,Obedience Dog, Agility Dog Etc. and the consequences to this breed & society from the actions of people who misuse,abuse & fight these dogs.
Excellent care & training section including A VERY Important

part to every potential owner, Selection of your dog.
All breeders should strive to produce dogs like Diane's Dread,
with low aggression,high trainability,excellent conformation & health.
Think Well before you get an APBT,if you do look long & hard
for an ethical & caring breeder and you will be rewarded with the best dog you ever had.
I have been Showing,Training & Breeding UKC Champions for 10 Years,and have not seen any books that highlight the breed so well.
