Best, easiest to use workout log,

The book is well made. The plastic cover is durable (dripping sweat wipes off with no harm done), the spiral binding lets the pages fold all the way around flat and is sturdy, and the pages are good stock and a nice bright white. The page layout is simple yet flexible, and can accommodate many different approaches to weight training. 15 lines of strength exercises per page, with weight/reps columns for 6 sets per exercise. Date/time/aerobics tracked at the top of the page, and room for comments at the bottom. You can store a pen in the spiral binding, and there's plenty of room to write whatever you need in the appropriate spaces on the page. There are also pages to record your current measurements and physical status, and to establish goals. And the book is not cluttered with all sorts of nonsense found in most others of this type that you simply don't need in a workout log (exercise instruction, sample routines, photos of steroid-infused professional bodybuilders, etc.). I have ordered every single workout log book that Amazon.com sells, and this is the only one I kept.

If you're serious about going to the gym and getting in shape then The Workout Log by Joe Oliver & Kel Gleason is an essential tool to keep you motivated and on track. The book is durable and spiral bound and can take the abuse of being in your gym bag. There are 180 pages where you can enter in up to 15 different exercises with subdivisions of reps/weight used for up to six sets. This is perfect for the novice or the advanced gym enthusiast. Also on the top of the page there is space for recording your aerobic activity, time and level. Finally there is a small section on the bottom for comments. The bottom line is that this book is simple, durable, and keeps you focused. What the book does not do is get you're lazy butt in the gym....you need to do that on your own. :-)

I own a weight loss center and I sell this log to all of my customers. It is VERY well designed and easy to use. I encourage anyone who wants to keep track of their workouts and their progress to purchase this manual. It is a MUST for any serious trainer or person who wants the most from his or her workouts.

This is a great workout log. It has room for keeping up with different reps and different amounts of weight for each exercise. It also has room for different cardio workouts. You can log up to 3 types of cardio with the time and level on each day. Great detailed log for keeping up with your workouts.

Great book for beginners AND experts!,

This book is just what I needed! I've used other books that are cluttered with useless advertisements, promotions, and just plain junk! This book cuts through all of that fat to give you WHAT YOU NEED IN THE GYM. The layout is perfect, and the durability of the book is great. Having a workout log not only lets you track your progress, it also lets you plan ahead and motivate yourself for your next time at the gym. I'm a Phys. Ed. teacher and a coach, and I will recommend this book for personal or professional use. It's great!

Great workout Log,

I use this 4 times weekly and love it. I purchased many other workout logs before this one and this is the best one by far. No useless pages and no wasted pages if I miss a day or only do cardio. Book is sturdy considering I keep it in gym bag and carry it around the gym. Sturdy cover and pages for spiral book. Would purchase this again once current log fills up.

An Almost Perfect Log Book,

This review is from: The Workout Log (Spiral-bound)
After using another log for two years, I am very excited about using this log. I do not feel like I am wasting pages when I take a day off. The log has more than enough space for my entire workout both strength and cardio. It does not have any of the extra stuff that as an experienced person I do not need. I can't wait to finish the last couple of pages in my old log and get to work in the new one.

I started working out a few months ago and was given keeping my progress on a piece of paper I kept in a file at the gym. This wasn't helping to keep me motivated since I couldn't review my progress and such at home when I could relax. I purchased the Workout Log and transferred all the information from the paper to the log. What a great log. It keeps track of so much more than I would have thought of doing. Not only am I keeping track of my workout progress, but I'm also watching my weight, the length of time I workout and even how the workout was. When I look back I can see the differences on "ok" days in comparison to "great" days of working out. This is a great motivator for me. I can now look back and see how far I've come and set goals of where I want to be.I've got a long way to go to fill this one, but there is no doubt I will be purchasing another one.

BEST LOG OUT THERE,

I have used several different workout logs. This one is the best one I have found anywhere. It has the right amount of space for each item and nice extras that are on each page, like Circle how your workout went-bad, ok, good, great. THat's a nice touch that I forget to note sometimes. If you want a workout log get this one!

Good, but not perfect,

This log is geared to serious weight lifting. It is meant to be used one page per day, but as I don't do six sets of anything, I can use one page for about a week, if I put two sets on one line. In addition to the weight training exercises, I list my cycling, pedometer or running each on a separate line and then enter the miles, steps or minutes, as the case may be. Filling out the log book is a great motivator and I recommend this one as easily adaptable to fit a variety of needs.
