For 12 years he appeared weekly on the local CBS affiliate news, with a "Crime Prevention Tip of the Week." He speaks to thousands of people each year during training seminars on personal protection, shoplifting, robbery prevention and workplace violence, among others.

I was a worried when it seemed like the book started out a bit on the sensational side, but the author was just trying to make sure the readers understood the seriousness of the material. I was relieved to see it develop into some practical suggestions and advice specifically suited to employees in their places of work.

This book offers up tips for recognizing the precursors and dealing with workplace violence in it's many forms. From dealing with irate and vengeful fired employees to customers that are determined to do harm, this book offers warning signs to look for and emergency plans to adapt to your specific situation. There are even diagrams for setting up workplaces to be ready for violent encounters.

There are a number of interesting illustrations told from the author's personal experience.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for personal security advice specific to workplace environments.
