5.0 out of 5 stars The Works of Darvish Khan, Volume 1, December 28, 2007

This review is from: Works of Darvish Kahn (Audio CD)
I know essentially nothing about Darvish Khan or Persian music in general, but I'd like to think that I know good music when I hear it - and this is most certainly it. Beautifully composed ensemble passages alternate with virtuosic (but never flashy) solo improvisations. This album manages to be simultaneously engaging and soothing, something I can't say about much else. I've listened to it 30+ times and I don't forsee myself ever getting sick of it. Recommended for anyone who digs quality sound.
