THE 5 STARS ARE CAUSE I LOVE ECHO & THE BUNNYMEN, BUT THERE ARE ONE TO MANY COMPILATIONS FROM THESE GUYS. AND ALWAYS YOU WILL FIND THAT ONE SONG MISSING, LIKE IN THIS ONE I THINK THEY LEFT OUT "BLU BLUE OCEAN".
IF YOU WANT THE BEST OF ECHO, BUY THE ALBUMS, LIKE "OCEAN RAIN". AND IF YOU WANT AN ORIGINAL COMPILATION, BUY "SONGS TO LEARN AND SING" THIS IS ECHO INTRODUCING THEIR MUSIC TO THE U.S.

In the tradition of the Sex Pistols, Echo and crew have once again re-re-released (maybe some more re-s in there) the same songs for the millionth time. I love these guys, but c'mon. Enough is enough.

Same songs, different packaging, dive into the lush abyss once more,

Legendary post-punk masters re-release a "best of" compilation. Yes, another one. For hardcore fans to whom this is the only band that ever mattered, each track is a delicious dive into the lyrical mysticism of Mac and neo-psych tinged guitar tweeks of Will. It does not disappoint. Each song is an invitation to get lost in their dreamy, star shine so hard abyss of despair, pop sensibility and poetic musings. This comp is a good starting place for newbies, and a nice additional comp for hardcore fans. Love it!

Excellent value for money. Gives you the WB years of the Bunnymen at a budget price
which is great for everyone who only thought Lips Like Sugar is all they did. While most serious fans will have the Crystal Days box set, every remaster, the RAH gig, etc, this is a great starting point for people who want to know more about this great band or just like "80s Brit pop/New Wave/Post-punk" (I hate having to try using labels to stick music into) get it. Also look into EBTG's set in this series as it's also great value for money. |
