5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely awesome May 20, 2008
I've bought about four or five of these complete works collections from this publisher. They are all exactly what they claim to be: the complete works of the author. For someone who doesn't want to be nickeled and dimed to death, these are a phenomenal value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect format for the Kindle! April 16, 2009
Verified Purchase
I've purchased over 10 of these complete author collections from this publisher. These collections work superbly on the Kindle. Take Mark Twain. The collection includes huge number of Mark Twain's works all in one place, searchable and well-organized. If I would have purchased all these books separately, searching for `The Gilded Age' among hundreds of other books on my Kindle would be a nightmare. With Mobile Reference collections, I simply click `Works of Mark Twain', then click Novels> `The Gilded Age'. I can also click `List of works in alphabetical order' > `G' > `Gilded Age'. If I forget the book title but remember that `The Gilded Age' was written by Mark Twain early in his career, I can click on `List of works in chronological order' > (1873) `The Gilded Age'.

If I want another author, say, Charles Dickens, I click `Home' > `Works of Charles Dickens'. If I want Dostoevsky, I click `Works of Fyodor Dostoyevsky'. I think this format is perfect for organizing books on the Kindle.

Inside collections, each book has links to chapters and footnotes. The text is nicely formatted and seems to be complete and accurate - something that cannot always be said about inexpensive ebooks. I think these collections are great bargains both in terms of saved money, time, and book organization!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolute bargain. Very well done. July 17, 2009

What? All of Twain for $5? YOUBETCHA.
These works are admirably laid out, with illustrations. I have nearly completed Huckleberry Finn. To paraphrase Twain "When I was 17 Huckleberry Finn was a darn good yarn, when I returned to it in my 50's, I was amazed how much better a writer Twain had become in the interim" I love to underline and notate my favorite quotes which can then be retrieved. This and the other Mobibook titles like it make your Kindle a tremendous classical library for nearly nothing (except the price of the Kindle). I notice it takes a lot less shelf space than my other classics :) How can you go wrong?

2.0 out of 5 stars Problems with this book June 23, 2010

I was looking forward to having the complete "Mark Twain" in one inexpensive volume. After downloading, my Kinle 2 started freezing up while reading another book. I remembered reading about a similar problem described by other reviewers using the Charles Dickens version by the same publisher (MobileReference). Problem was resolved after I deleted "Mark Twain" from my Kindle 2. Buyer beware!

5.0 out of 5 stars Storytelling at its best September 13, 2009
Verified Purchase
Literature aficionados can now enjoy and read Mark Twain's legendary stories in digital form. This is an excellent collection that compiles all of the books, short stories, and essays that many readers have grown to love or ponder that has been studied and critiqued or simply read for pleasure. From one of the most read books in American literature, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn to the satirical commentary on nineteenth century world affairs, Roughing It, Twain had a say on just about everything that he had encountered in his lifetime.

And for those who have not had the opportunity to read any of Mark Twain's unique form of storytelling, the Kindle edition provides that opportunity. There is no doubt that this collection of his works has a thought-provoking quality to each story because of the range of insight that Twain provided within each of his stories from history to science that one may find humorous or loathe. Indeed, this is a welcome addition to any reader's Kindle library.
