5.0 out of 5 stars What can you say? December 12, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
If you want to understand the philosophical underpinnings of Western Classical Liberalism (not in the modern "left versus right" context) that the US founding fathers relied on as they laid the groundwork for the American Republic, Burke is absolutely key. This is one of the key texts of Western Civilization. Reading it is time well spent. And you cannot beat the price!

Nope. This book did not do it for me. It was put down material. Maybe I did not allow myself to be bored for long enough and the book has therefore been unfairly judged.

It is a collection of ideas of a very wise individual of those times. Read if you want a peek into that period.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring October 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found this book very boring. I did not realize it was gonna be about letters this person wrote. I was expecting some type of story line type book.
