I don't mean to sound grumpy........ but!

This project was done by my 6yr old granddaughter with my supervision. She did NOT put the paint on heavy. We ran out of several colors. I had to varnish it for her so as to try and stretch the varnish. I just made it. It would have been shinier
with a little more paint. We couldn't use the glaze on all of it. Too little.

You have a great product here. At least fill up the paint cups.

Sarah's beautiful butterfly is finished. It held her interest and she enjoyed doing it.

I have purchased 10 other Imaginarium Kits. I HOPE they have more paint.

My daughter (8) liked making this. Drawbacks... it says it's wood and it's really fiber board. She painted the inside of the cover and now the cover is really too tight for her to take it off herself. Use the paint very sparingly, the company is rather stingey with the ammount given.

I usually do not write these reviews, though I do read them. But, this was such a hit at my house. I bought 3 of them and sat the kids down to make christmas presents. Yes, I am ahead of myself, It was a huge success and now I just have to keep the kids from telling what the gifts are, they are so proud of what they did. These are great fun and well worth the price. Seeing is believing.

Your child is going to LOVE this Works of Ahh... Butterfly Box. It really and truly does create a beautiful finished product. However, as you work on this, be aware that you must be very sparing in your use of the paints, because they are (in my opinion) unnecessarily stingy with the amounts of paints provided. That little bit can make a huge difference if you didn't realize this until you had already put it on a little too thick and realized that you couldn't finish without going out and buying more stuff at the crafts' store.

That being said, WOW, this is a very, very nice crafts set. The finished product that you can produce is gift-worthy, so keep that in mind if you have a youngster who would like to make an extra-special gift for a teacher or other friend. It's just that nice a useful item!

I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
