Superb look at artisans & where they work!, August 26, 2004
This review is from: The Workshop: Celebrating the Place Where Craftsmanship Begins (Hardcover)
You won't learn how to build anything or receive any free patterns with this book. Instead, you'll learn a great deal about what sort of workshops successful craftsman use and work in. From the largest to the smallest, it gave me ideas for my own workshop.
I found the pages a visual delight, too, taking a sneak peek into the lives of these other artists. As an amateur woodworker, I found the pictures of their workshops & their stories quite entertaining.

working with wood, November 1, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: The Workshop: Celebrating the Place Where Craftsmanship Begins (Hardcover)
A book written with sensitivity along with a practical knowledge of the art of wordworking. It shows an understanding of the heart that goes into the creation of a work of art made from wood which is more than knowing how to use the tools of the craft.
