Much like a small conversation you remember having with your cab driver (in the days when most all New York cabbies actually spoke English or at least New York Cabbie English) - these short tales often demure to newsprint style, space and speed. The articles serve best as memorable slices of old New York attitude. Well worth the read - pieces of Breslin at his best.
