5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the worlds best punk band
This is best new CD of this year. Normally I am not a big punk fan. I didn't really expect to like this CD. But every song on the album sounds fresh and new. I guess these guys have "Gobs" of talent. I was hooked after I heard just one song. I have told everyone I know to buy this cd. Its a CD that you don't get sick of after you listen to it five times...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Canadian Cd of the year, July 25, 2001

This review is from: The World According To Gob (Audio CD)
I have just recently returned from a three week trip to canada and I able to watch Much Music for the whole time. The first video that I saw was Gob 'For the Moment' and it stuck in my head for the whole trip. Just before I left I bought the cd and I now listen to it everday at work. It just keeps getting better and better. Excellent punk music with melody.

5.0 out of 5 stars Killer CD, September 27, 2002

I like it a lot. When I played this album for my little brother, he thought it was like a greatest hits CD or something. It's all good - there really are only like 1 or 2 songs I don't dig a ton. This is Gob's only album I've ever heard in full, but I want to get more of their stuff for sure. By the way, they rock live...they are extremely entertaining and funny. Get this one!!

5.0 out of 5 stars one of Canada's Best Bands, February 15, 2002
This review is from: The World According To Gob (Audio CD)
GOB have been one of my favorite bands for a while now and they have been around for many years, its too bad they have not really achieved the popularity or success as some similar bands(Green Day,Blink 182,Offspring or NOFX) ..what GOB has always done is give us fun, catchy, aggressive punk music! with this cd they seem to go more pop then ever(which is not a bad thing) ...the first single "i hear you calling" in my opinion is better then anyhting Blink has done in a while..but still GOB stays pretty much unheard of anywhere else ..oh well....maybe thats a good thing since there is so much garbage played over and over...

Ah, This is my favorite CD! I swear every single song is good. When i first got the cd a few years ago i went through the songs and was like...dude...every song is cool...there arent many cds like that. If you like this cd you should also get foot in mouth disease, how far shallow takes you, and too late...no friends. gob is the best!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album, great band, February 24, 2002

Gob, one of those many bands who you don't know about...but you should. I can't say I'm completly innocent either, for it took one of my friends to get me into them, but I'm very glad he let me in on this little secret of his. To describe this bands sound would be difficult, they aren't quite punk...yet they aren't quite pop punk either, instead they seem to fall somewhere in between the two genres. Take part Green Day and part Blink 182 and throw them in a bowl, sprinkle in some Reel Big Fish, Less Than Jake, Ataris and Weezer, mix them together and you have something remotely close to what Gob has to offer. Oh, but all this rambling and I haven't even told you about "The World According to Gob", well to sum it up pretty easily it's one hell of an album. Each track seems to stand out from the next, and it's very hard to pick favorites when every song seems to be more than worthy. But it must be done...highlight tracks include "For The Moment", "I hear you calling", "No Regrets", "Looking for California", "144" and "Desktop Breaking" (told ya it was hard). If you like punk, pop punk, emo or rock in general pick this one up you won't regret it, trust me on this one folks.

5.0 out of 5 stars Might be better than Blink eh? hmm..., July 30, 2002

I'm not even going to touch what that guy said. What I will say, however, is that this band is definately one of the best bands I have heard recently. The begining of the cd just completely reels you in. Each song has something unique about it that seperates it from the others unlike some bands recently, but you still reconize the good voice and great music accompyning it. I recomend it to anybody that likes rock in general, dont be held back by genre's. But for all you punkers out there, its something you will like too.
