Long on Bad, Short on Good...-,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: World Action and Adventure: Official Guide (Hardcover)
While there are a few interesting ideas or presentations (the mapping section, the timeline, lists, etc.), this book is largely incomprehensible or brings nothing new to the field of RolePlaying Games, even for the period in which it was originally published. Since then (early '80's) RPGs such as GURPS or the HERO System have more fully accomplished what the author of World Action & Adventure had set out to achieve (beyond earning Junior College school credit) in a universal game rules set.
While the price I paid was remarkably low (one cent plus 3.99 S&H), I can honestly say that it wasn't even worth that amount. If your curiosity has been nagging you to purchase this 'game' or its two supplements, I advise against it unless you are a automasochist. |
