Biography

If you have been to the cinema or watched a DVD in the last 20 years, it's likely you have heard a Hans Zimmer track. Born in Germany in 1957, the keyboard player and writer began his career in the early 1980's electronic bands Ultravox and The Buggles, and with an Italian new wave band Krisma, playing on their third album Cathode Mama.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, January 25, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: A World Apart: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Many people think that a debut album (or soundtrack) is not very good, but this was not the case for Zimmer. This is where it all started. A small orchestra soundtrack and the music is similar to the one composed for Rain Man. I enjoy listening this one from start to finish. The suite it's one of the best early Zimmer songs. Even though it's impossible to find in many countries, it's worthing the search.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Impressive As His Later Works...., May 14, 2008
This review is from: A World Apart: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
This was an ok CD. Period. To be honest, I only liked about 3 of the 7 or 8 tracks on the album, but they were good enough to warrant at least a 3 star rating. If your used to Zimmer's later works like I am, then this one probably wont find itself among your favorites, but if your a lover of his work, then give it a shot.
