A comprehensive anthology of physics, July 17, 2005

This is an excellent book for someone who wants to read the actual phsyics paper over the ages that lead important advances in the sciences. The papers are arranged from ancient times to the 20th century. What makes this book more readable are the introductions before each paper and a biography of its author(s).
Among the many great scientists included: Descartes, Boyle, Hooke, Huygens, Newton, Avogadro, Joule, Maxwell, Faraday, Roentgen, Curie, Planck, Einstein, Geiger, Bohr, Hertz, Rose, born, Van de Graaff, Kusch, Heisenberg, Jensen, Fermi - and more!
