The papers are arranged from ancient times to the 20th century. What makes this book more readable are the introductions before each paper and a biography of its author(s).

Among the many great scientists included: Descartes, Boyle, Hooke, Huygens, Newton, Avogadro, Joule, Maxwell, Faraday, Roentgen, Curie, Planck, Einstein, Geiger, Bohr, Hertz, Rose, born, Van de Graaff, Kusch, Heisenberg, Jensen, Fermi - and more!
