5.0 out of 5 stars A World Beyond by Ruth Montgomery
I found this book when I was about 17 years old. It had just come out and there were not many books on the subject of reincarnation back then. I have now read many books of this kind. It is my opinion that A World Beyond gives the clearest and most accurate picture of the other side. Although Journey Of Souls by Michael Newton, is also excellent .. if you need to be...

I was given this book as a Christmas present,it had been bought second hand first published in 1971
Ruth i'm sure has grown in experience as an author and as a medium since righting this book as has I hope Arthur Ford has grown in experience since passing, but the undercurrant of this book was I feel racist and neochristian.

It is my opinion that A World Beyond gives the clearest and most accurate picture of the other side. I highly recommend this book to anyone with an open mind and a desire to expand their beliefs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Open your heart and your mind then read these books, April 28, 2005

This review is from: A World Beyond (Mass Market Paperback)

I just finished reading A World Beyond, it was the first book that I had read by Ruth Montgomery, it was loaned to me and it is changing the course of my life. Before finishing the book, I ordered a replacement because it is not a book I intend to part with. I have read several books on topics of this kind, since I started reading these type of books about 12 years ago; I have kept an open mind to the possibilities of the things I've read being true. Some may be and some may not. I believe Ruth is one of those writers who wrote as an act of love and that all she wrote is true or at least was true at the time *. I have also just received her book The World To Come, I couldn't put it down from the moment I received it. It is very important that these two books be read by as much of humanity as possible. * In The World To Come the guides have revised the information relating to when the earth's shift will happen and explain why the change has occurred. The information in these two books alone will change your world if you are searching for the truth and our purpose here. For people like one of the other readers who left a review of 1 star; don't just read a couple of chapters and dare to speak on a subject you hardly know anything about. You are doing a disservice to some that otherwise would gain spiritual growth and preparedness for the continuation of our lives beyond this plane. Ruth has mentioned Swedenborg in A World Beyond, after much research I have ordered several books of his. It was the 1st time a had ever heard of him, come to find out he was considered to have an IQ perhaps higher than Einstein's. Ruth has opened my heart and mind broader than I could possibly have imagined in such little time. Read, study and share these books and our world will be a better place for our children and our future lives. I would love to translate these books into Spanish just to be able to reach so many more people. Because of these books, I have realized that we have an obligation to ourselves as well as the world to use all of our talents to make positive contributions to the world, which in turn affects us all. Every good deed that each one of us contributes brings us a step closer to accomplishing our mission on Earth. Each day, we must keep in mind that we set a goal for our soul before coming to earth to reach a higher level of progression and understanding of the Universal laws and we do this by thinking always of others and sharing our love and knowledge with them and always lending a hand, as well as concerning ourselves with helping others whenever possible.

5.0 out of 5 stars Believe it or not, July 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: A World Beyond (Mass Market Paperback)
I was given this book when my grandmother died several years ago and I'm re-reading it now. It is a great book to read (or give as a gift) when you lose someone you love. And it's an eye-opener for our own "life" experiences. The irony is that it teaches some of the same messages about God you hear in traditional churches but it makes sense of God in a way I've never felt before. I'm wrestling with what she says as I read but it's hard not to believe. I highly recommend this book. She has a great message.

4.0 out of 5 stars It would be hard to fear death after reading this book!, September 26, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: A World Beyond (Mass Market Paperback)
If I had the money, I would buy at least a hundred copies of this book for every hospital, hospice, or old age home in the world. The concepts may be just a bit simplified, but that very well may be just what is needed at this time in our human understanding - especially if you are facing death soon. This is easy reading. And believe it or not, it is light reading. There is no fear here, no gloom, and nothing depressing. And it is accurate according to my personal experiences. God Bless Ruth for writing this book! Now, if people would only read it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful revealing body of knowledge, December 4, 2003
This review is from: A World Beyond (Mass Market Paperback)
A World Beyond was not only the first book of channelled information I read, but was the first real explanation regarding what really happens to us beyond this physical reality. For me, having been raised a Southern Baptist, this WAS a very big "eye opener", needless to say.

I would highly recommend this work for anyone who is unsure about not only their spirituality, but about their own mortality. Ruth Montgomery does a very good job through "automatic writing" with this, as she has written exactly as was dictated to her by Arthur and the guides.

Amazingly, even now with all the information available, whenever I have a serious question about anything needing further explanation, I still go back to this work to see what was written there. I feel that it is written in the easiest to comprehend terms of anything in print to date.

5.0 out of 5 stars A WORLD BEYOND, August 16, 2000
This review is from: A World Beyond (Mass Market Paperback)
WOW! What a great book, couldn't put it down. I had heard of this book from my Grandmother when I was very young. Not until now (25) had I read this. This book helped to renite my inner feelings of life after death, I had been so busy as we all get and how wonderful to reawake myself. Not for the "good bible beater"... Well maybe. I hope everyone who has contact with this book is able to approach with an open heart. There is a wonderful message that awaits all of us. My love to you Ruth and Arthor.

I have read many books about NDE's and the life hereafter. And this tops them all. I have no problem recommending this book to everyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book for the living who expect to die some day, July 30, 2009

Imagine that a close friend has recently passed on.

Now imagine that you are in contact with that friend. After prayer and brief meditation this close friend uses your fingers to type out information about the afterlife.

If you were Ruth Montgomery you would be using an electric typewriter in 1971 and your close friend would be Arthur Ford.

I recently heard about Ruth Montgomery. I found this book particularly interesting given the fact that it was written close to 40 years ago.

I have read other books that report the same sort of information. But these have been written within the last 10 years. I found it impressive that American lady almost 60 years old would write a book on the subject in the 1970's, right around the beginning of the "New Age" movement.

I do not consider myself a "New Ager" nor I'm I particularly impressed with many of the authors in the "mainstream New Age" genre.

The author was certainly brave to write such a book and I believe that she was indeed in contact with disincarnate individuals. I think she did a good, but not perfect, job keeping an open mind and being a clear channel for this type of communication.

For example, some of the comments about primitive people seem to hint of prejudices and stereotypes that should be above those without a physical body. I also admit that I am not terribly interested in the current activities of long dead political figures.

I am also less than impressed with the ability of those on the other side to foresee the future. I could have skipped the last few chapters in the book.

However, I am very interested in knowing what it means to be human. I believe in an afterlife and so think it behooves me now to know what it will be like to smooth out the transition. Somehow the pearly gates and sitting on clouds for eternity does not ring true.

In this respect the book is very enlightening. How does the hell fire preacher or the self righteous lady react to consciousness without a physical body? What about atheists?

If you are currently alive and expect to die some time, I would recommend that you read this book. Don't believe everything in it. But take what seems right and you might just be better prepared for your final curtain call.

4.0 out of 5 stars A World Beyond, November 3, 2006
This review is from: A World Beyond (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book MANY years ago and wanted to read it again. I've recommended this to many people and will continue to do so. First of all, you must read this with an open mind; and secondly, it gives the reader a whole new look about the afterlife! I highly recommend it!

Wow what a book. I came across it by accident, picked it up and started reading. I could not put it down. It is just how I have believed life after death to be. To actually read something that describes my thoughts. The purpose of our existance, it is a must to read.
