4.0 out of 5 stars Rhett in Philly May 20, 2007
Format:DVD
Dunno when it was recorded but it was the first time Rhett played in public with the Believers.

TRACKS: 1. STONED 2. FOUR-EYED GIRL 3. BRAND NEW WAY 4. THINGS THAT DISAPPEAR 5. QUESTION 6. TIME BOMB 7. WORLD INSIDE THE WORLD 8. THE NEW KID 9. ROLLERSKATE SKINNY 10. THE BELIEVER 11. COME AROUND 12. FIRELIES 13. MY VALENTINE 14. SINGULAR GIRL 15. HELP ME SUZANNE 16. OUR LOVE

The first 11 tracks are Rhett solo acoustic. He trots out Tommy and Jenifer Glass for #12 Fireflies. #13 - 16 are full-blown Believers numbers with drummer Angela Webster and base player Greg Breshers.

Rhett sings his little heart out but the Believers got better after a few shows.

5.0 out of 5 stars I must've been stoned....... June 5, 2009
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Rhett is honestly one of the best (if not THE best) live performer I've seen. I've never left a show feeling like I didn't get my money's worth and this DVD is no different. It's simply a testament to why Rhett's still around making music.

On Stage at the World Café is a must-have for any Rhett/Old 97's fan. I also have the 97's live DVD as well as their Alive and Wired cd. While Rhett's albums (as well as the Old 97's) are incredible, seeing and hearing him/them live is a whole different beast entirely. The energy is palpable, and in one of the interviews on this DVD, Rhett mentions it, saying something to the effect of "It may not be cool to be this excited about rock and roll, but at least it's honest."

What are you doing?

Get. This. DVD.
