5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Original Thrash
Fantastic straight up thrash. However, the guitarist has a sort of classical influence (I'm not a musician so pls bear with me) to his guitar style. But make no mistake this is kick yo butt thrash. The guitarist does a great job of playing rhythm as well as lead guitar. And oh does he play lead guitar - his leads are scorching - I mean his strings must be about to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Just listen to the guitarist
This is easy. Screaming vocals, speeeeeeed metal, and a guitarist that won't quit. Nothing subtle. Over the top. If you don't like the guitar on World Circus, then you don't play (I have for over 40 years). This guy was (is) extremely fast and accurate. The songs? Not bad, but the technical part of this is what impresses.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Original Thrash, March 3, 2010

Fantastic straight up thrash. However, the guitarist has a sort of classical influence (I'm not a musician so pls bear with me) to his guitar style. But make no mistake this is kick yo butt thrash. The guitarist does a great job of playing rhythm as well as lead guitar. And oh does he play lead guitar - his leads are scorching - I mean his strings must be about to catch fire. However, he does a great job of playing with definition - by that I mean it's not a bunch of hyper speed "mush" that sounds like one never ending bunch of noise. This dude can REALLY play guitar. And the other musicians do a damn fine job; the singer complements the guitar player well as he has a scorching voice. He can flat out sing - seriously, he in my opinion has a great metal voice that isn't just highs - he's got some cajones in his voice to add to the fact that he can blast out the highs. Drums have a solid pound to them; the drummer is damn fine. Also, the bass player lays in fast thick riffs in keeping up with the lead guitar rather than plunk, plunk, keep the rhythm. All I can say is if you are a fan of thrash, this is a hidden jem. Seriously, you will be very much surprised (and might just hurt your neck) by this one. If you like kick your face in thrash that's original and not the same old thing . . . don't think. BUY this!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing!, September 6, 2008
By
This review is from: World Circus (Audio CD)
Finally after all this time. Read about Toxik in a Mag when Think This came out. Rave reviews about them. Unaware of World Circus at the time. I've found the vocals to be tollerably ear piercing, songs are catchy. Not much of a vocal range, high and higher. Fast, technical musicians, intense. Josh tears this album up, shredded and reshredded. Talented, great band. I like the cover art too. Very interesting album. I want More!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The last reviewer is a f * cking idiot, January 13, 2010
This review is from: World Circus (Audio CD)
PLEASE disregard the previous review. Unfortunately, some people mistake the Metallica "black" album as the ONLY thrash (or any metal) album they've ever heard, so their opinion is about as viable as their existence (self explanatory).
On to the review: I owned the original version prior to the remaster, and I would HIGHLY suggest the remaster due to a WAY better sound and bonus material. Though not as skillfully crafted as the ultra-genius masterpeice Think This, World Circus is in itself a remarkable thrash record, with the same kind of speed and delivery, but easily rival and trump, as their east coast contemporaries (yeah Anthrax, you don't have a prayer) as well as most of the majority of fellow progthrash groups out there. I would venture to say this is for fans of Cacophony and Watchtower moreso than, say, the Big Four thrash bands (you should know who those are, if you've made it this far into the bowels of thrash). guitar enthusiasts as well as run-of-the-mill headbangers should find redeeming values about this record and this band. HIGHLY recommended. A G A I N...HIGHLY.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crushing!, August 12, 2009
This review is from: World Circus (Audio CD)
Everything said above is absolutely true. I've had this album on cassette for years. It's great to have it on CD with the great job on the remastering. I ususally don't go for the high vocals, but this guy is a great singer with LOTS of range. The guitar sound is CRUSHING! Great riffs, even better leads, and the drums and bass are clearly audible. Fantastically underrated Thrash album. Very different from the technical-for-the-sake-of-technicality follow-up Think This, but I too prefer the straight forward riff and rhythm section on World Circus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome album...snobby CD, December 18, 2008
This review is from: World Circus (Audio CD)
This is Toxik's very first album and I must say it rocks very hard!!the guitar work is very well done and the vocals take me back to the time of when thrash metal ruled the radio stations.I will mention the 'snobby CD' I don't know if it's the mastering or what but on certain playback devices it won't play or will produce a clipping sound which I found very odd.Beyond that it's superbly remastered and sounds as fresh as it did when it first came out in the late 80's :)

Yeah this was killer back then and is probably even cooler now, if I could hear it again. All that stuff the guy in the other review says plus hey I have been playin guitar since that album was originally released and it was an inspiration then. Really fast that song" Hard Attack" or whatever. but the whole thing was a great listen back around 1990 was the last time I heard it. Searchin for metal this is some of it, OLD SCHOOL.

i live for classic thrash. i never really heard these guys back in the day. now i wish i never did. this is the lamest thrash metal album ever. these dweebs are total puzzies and the music is really bad and phony. the lead singer should have hanged himself(preferably after he shot the band). dont waste yer cash on this junk. should be negative 5 stars.
