Just Enough Information,

This book has been in my collection for years without much interest from my grandchildren until this weekend. Sometimes you wonder why you keep certain things and then the reason all of a sudden becomes apparent! My 6 year old granddaughter plucked it out of one of my book baskets because she could read the words on the cover and the illustration looked like jewels to her. She is a fairy princess at every opportunity and thought she might gain some much needed information concerning gems. So we read the book together. There is a light discussion of what crystals are, where you can find them and, especially exciting to her, how to make them! So we followed the directions together and are impatiently waiting the formation of our rock candy crystals! Was an enjoyable weekend activity that involved the two of us and Reading for Information! Worth every cent.
