Information From the Author,

This review is from: The World to Come: A Portal to Heaven on Earth (Paperback)
This is the author. I wanted to share what's inside this book. Of all the books I have written, no subject has so affected me and moved me to see life in a new way as this one. I'd have to think that readers, like the author, will encounter something life-changing by reflecting on this topic. I think what I have to offer is a Messianic Jewish perspective, bringing in some rabbinic sayings and emphasizing the Hebrew Scriptures and their description of a natural paradise in the hereafter.
Here are the chapter titles: Chapter 1 Magic and Desire Chapter 2 The Vision of Prophets Chapter 3 Israel as the Vessel Chapter 4 The Nations as the Goal Chapter 5 Yeshua and the Kingdom of God Chapter 6 The Vision of Yochanan Chapter 7 Hints of Heaven Chapter 8 Horrors of Hell Chapter 9 The Drama of the Coming Ages Chapter 10 The Days of Messiah Chapter 11 Love Chapter 12 The Holy One Chapter 13 Further Up and Further In Appendix A Scripture Compendium Appendix B Ages Past and To Come --Derek Leman

The heart of man,

This review is from: The World to Come: A Portal to Heaven on Earth (Paperback)
Derek Leman is my favorite messianic Jewish author. He truly has his finger on the pulse of what is important for believers of our time. In "The World To Come" Derek truly hits on the inner parts of our souls, which responds intuitively to the beauty of creation, and pulls us to the hope of the world to come. My obscure, somewhat distant view of our eternal future has been at once clarified, and made more real. It is a beautiful read, sometimes its just good to know where you are going.

Derek Leman's new book "The World to Come" delivers a fresh approach to the afterlife, which has become a cliché in popular books, magazines and films. The concept of the World to Come is like a fine piece of furniture that has been neglected and repainted numerous times. The author strips away the garish veneer of popular culture to reveal the beauty of the Tanakh, B'rit Chadashah, the Sages and Believers writings. This is a book that is a must for any congregation or person seeking mature inspiration.

The World to Come.,
This review is from: The World to Come: A Portal to Heaven on Earth (Paperback)
Riviting Read. Rabbi Derek Leman breaks down many misconceptions people have concerning the after life, and what is to come in the future. Personally, I often had thoughts of "Heaven" as a boring existence where one simply sings worship songs all day and all night. This book has helped me to see that this view does not hold up to the light of scripture and Jewish tradition.
Rather, what we see as beautiful now, will be even more enhanced in the world to come. Caring acts of love and kindness towards others, will be remembered in the world to come. Glimpses of the world to come can be seen in a dark mysterious forest, a beautiful seashore, and especially through acts of service shown toward others. This book will help the reader learn what Yeshua means by "Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven". After reading this book my perception of future life in God's Kingdom dramatically changed. This is a must read!

No such think as Messianic Jew,
By
This review is from: The World to Come: A Portal to Heaven on Earth (Kindle Edition)
Writer is not a Jew. There is no such thing as a Messianic Jew. You are either Jewish or Christian, not both. The people that call themselves "messianic Jews" are Christians preying on uneducated Jews. They wrap up their Christianity with Hebrew words and suck uneducated Jews in. Repeat, you are either Christian or Jewish, not both. If you call yourself "messianic Jewish," you are a Christian.
