Goal for the NES & World Cup 94 for the SNES were good games but World Cup 98 was the first of the great soccer games.
Ahh 1998, a time when Sammy was knocking HRs out of Wrigley, Kerry was on the mound tossing and Beck was the man when it was down to the wire and a tram ticket at the zoo only cost $2.50. 1998 was also the year of one of the greatest World Cups in history with France beating the mighty Brazilians 3-0 in the finals. This game has all 32 teams and 8 EA thinks should have made the cup. Many of the great players are hear; Ronaldo, Zidane, Tony Meola and with the correct kits. This game is a lot of fun and very easy to play. I picked this bitch up at Babbages in the mall but that store has since gone Chapter 11 so your best bet is to get it on eBay. It's a great way to relive 1998 without having to watch Austin Powers or a document of Bill Clinton bonking Monica Lewinski or Paula Jones. This game also has that song I get knocked down by Chumbuwaga. I wish they had that song Farewell to the queen & Rickey Martin's Cup of Life but it'll do pig, it'll do pig. I would definately recommend instead of buying a bag of cheese puffs at Jewels u get this gem. Peace to all CC

I JUST CANT WAIT FOR SOUTH AFRICA 2010 WHICH MORE THAN LIKELY WILL BE RELEASED FOR THE PS3 AND IT SHOULD LOOK AWESOME! GET THIS GAME WHILE YOU CAN BECAUSE ITS VERY HARD TO FIND. IT TOOK ME ALMOST 4 YRS TO GET A HOLD OF A COPY RIGHT HERE IN AMAZON AND THERES NOT MANY LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!

When I first rented this game, I had never really liked soccer on a video game. That all changes in one night. At first i'm one not to read directions on a game that I have never played and learn as i'm playing. But the thing about this one was I started playing, and I was doing stuff right and winning. It was so easy to pick up that I played all night, by winning and losing just about one world cups. I also loved the oldschool, by being teams like the Scotland and Sweendens 1940's or 1960's I can't remeber. I would rank this game as one of the top ten video games of all time for sports games. Thanks alot!!! Go Jayhawks!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is by far one of the best games that Fifa and EA Sports have created! The graphics are great, and the gameplay is smooth. The only problems i have with the game is the intro song by Chumba Wumba, and the poor commentary by those two annoying Brits!! I'm also pleased that you're able to choose from all of the countries participating in the World Cup, even the ones that haven't made it in a while (like Ecuador, which might i add just made it for the first time this year!!!). All in all, this game is great for anyone who loves soccer!!

Good, but could be better, soccer,

This game is a good soccer game for the PlayStation, but it could be better. In this game there are world teams, but no teams from the MLS. It has the current rosters for the World Cup, and group rankings are correct too. The stadiums are the same as the world cup and are really realistic. What is bad about this game is that there is no create a player mode. You can rename a player, but it is nowhere as good as creating your own player. Another thing, once you get good enough at this game, it will be like scoring at will, but when you raise the level, you will get crushed. But altogether this is a really good game.

Man I have fifa 2002, but this game I think is just as good. I don't understand the soccer fans who don't like this game. Since I know almost all the world cup teams I defenitely like this game. I'm so big of a soccer fan that I at least watch some soccer every day. This game is the ultimate machine. You don't even know how much I like this game. This game has awesome graphics.
