1.0 out of 5 stars Bad information, June 16, 2005
This review is from: The World Encyclopedia of Trees (Hardcover)
I cannot recommend this book. It contains misinformation. As an example, the entry on Sorrel Tree (page 110) confuses two completely different trees, Umbellularia californica and Oxydendrum arboreum. Also, many of the range maps are drastically off. It has lovely illustrations, but if you can't trust the information, what good is it?

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book., December 19, 2006

This review is from: The World Encyclopedia of Trees (Hardcover)
I read the other review, "Bad Information" and looked up what that review was talking about in the book; I felt that the book should have an accurate review. Page 110 has nothing to do with those trees the review mentioned and they are actually on 2 different pages in the book. The book seems to live up to its title very well. I bought this for my girlfriend, a biology major, who is extremely interested in trees, and she loves this book.
