We were lucky enough recently to hear Tomas play in person. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We purchased New World Flamenco Jazz, and have continued to enjoy what he has to offer. We have purchased additional copies as gifts and received much appreciation for the introduction to Tomas and his music.

We hope you enjoy Tomas' wonderful offerings as much as we have.

I have five of Tomas Michaud's CD's and it would be hard to say which is my favorite. New World Flamenco Jazz displays the same intricate, uplifting and soothing guitar work as do the others. I listen to his music every day at work - it keeps me centered and happy at a very stressful job. Highly recommend all of his work.

I had the pleasure of hearing Tomas play live in Las Vegas. I enjoyed his music so much that I decided to buy several of his CDs. They did not disappoint. The New World Flamenco Jazz is my favorite. I highly recommend this CD to anyone interested in this type of music.

I have been listening to this cd for a few months now. I fell in love with it the first time I heard it. It's both soothing and uplifting at the same time, a real plus for me. I highly recommend it as a sensory treat and a true pleasure to listen to.

I find Tomas' album "New World Flamenco Jazz" provides a rhythm that I can attach myself to... while working or relaxing. The music not only "lifts your spirit and soothes your soul", it brings your spirit and soul together ...to dance.

The latest release by Tomas Michaud finds the artist settling into a tasty groove reflecting his travels and global inspirations. The title aptly defines the feeling of the disc which is a unique combination of jazz(echoes of Wes Montgomery) and flamenco. Taking the best of both worlds, jazz and flamenco, incorporating the musical elements into a intrumental hybrid sound that evokes the passion of flamenco and the soothing qualities of jazz is no easy task but Tomas Michaud does so with style. This is elegant music, soothing and relaxing , spiritual and exhilirating at once. Somewhat of a departure from his recommended "I Must Be Dreaming" release in that it has a slightly more jazz edge to it, Michaud strikes that balance artists try to achieve, excellence without compromise. Some of the personel return from his previous works resulting in a fine tuned production thanks to Don Turney, keyboards and production, Wayne Leadbetter on saxes and Brian Rice on percussion. The familiarity of the Tomas Michaud sound is at once even if you have not heard him before, the clarity and tranquility grabs you from beginning to end of this outstanding disc. There are many guitar players and groups who play this style of music but the one that comes to mind first and foremost is Ottmar Liebert. If you like the music of Ottmar Liebert than you will definitely enjoy this disc. The problem is that it is hard to pidgeonhole the playing style of Michaud because of his unique talents and superb production skillls. The music is sometimes, sassy and funky(the jazz influences) as in "Hoping and Wishing " which would be right at home on your favorite smooth jazz station and at other times melodic and mellow like the tune "French Kiss," after all, a kiss should be gentle. The magic is in the fingers of Michaud on the frets that is like a page from nature, like water rushing along to a waterfall and cascading with feroscity over the edge and eventually settling into a gentle river downstream. The gentle vibe is evident in songs like "Awakened By An Angel " where the music evokes a certain spirituality. The Spanish influence abounds and is richly illustrated in songs like "Sevillle" where you begin your musical journey on this CD. The horn work is splendid, moving in and out throughout the disc giving color to the jazz elements. Moving along on your musical passport you will have a brief nu flamenco stop on "Moroccan Lullaby " that transports you further along your journey. Again nice horn work is included that adds to the texture of the song and gives the song that North African flair. In essence, this is a disc as near to perfection as posssible. The guitar work of Tomas Michaud is not overly flashy but rather impeccably clean and free of "tricks," it is refreshing to hear talent that doesn't have to dazzle you with finger licks at obnoxious speed devoid of soul. If you want to hear a class act check out this disc. The music elevates your soul with the masterful fret work that is equal parts jazz and flamenco that results in a new direction, in a word, beautiful. Highly recommended with a running time of 58:26.

I grew up listening to classical music with little exposure to any other type of music. I first came across Tomas' CD when I met Tomas in Arizona. First of all, what an incredible person Tomas is. He is kind and caring, passionate about his music and enthusiastic. I was really eager to listen to his CD and once I did, I was blown away! The music is uplifting yet relaxing at the same time. Tomas' music can paint a thousand of the most colourful exotic and foreign images that seem on the other hand, so familiar. The CD is especially great for long country drives, lazing around the house, for small intimate meetings or large group gatherings, and even accompaniment during long tiring work hours. I highly recommend this sophisticated, thoroughly enjoyable, fun, and refreshing CD and I can't wait to hear the rest of Tomas MIchaud's music. I hear he has an incredible one appropriate for the holiday season.

Ahm...excuse me. This is unfortunately NOT the passion of Flamenco and surely not the experimental of Jazz.

I would not recommend this CD to the deep Flamenco or deep Jazz lovers.
