5.0 out of 5 stars Bar 7 sounds like Tesla at its very best.
I can`t express enough to anyone who reads this how great this disc is. If you ever liked Tesla even just a little bit, then you should definately buy this disc. It will really surprise you. This is one of the very few disc that I have bought in the past year that did not disapoint. This may appear to be just a side project for these two former Tesla members but it...

3.0 out of 5 stars Yes, it sounds like Tesla, and that is good...
For all of us waiting for the Tesla live "RePlugged" CD next month, this is a pretty nice stopgap. But honestly, Jeff Keith and Tommy Skeoch do NOT have a "new sound." (Let's not kid ourselves.) Is it Tesla? Well, no. but is it veeeeery close? Yes. Jeff was in on all the songwriting, and Tommy was in on most of it. This is a reasonably strong album from a band that will...

4.0 out of 5 stars Tesla Jr., August 29, 2000

I was so glad to hear that Jeff and Tommy were putting out this album. As a long time Tesla-fanatic this was a welcome addition to the new millinium of rockers. Bar 7 is not Tesla, but they are damn close. Obviously the voice is the same, but the music is not as complex and is more down to earth rock. The only problem with the album is there are a few too many ballads, but compared to other bands out there Bar 7 is great. If you liked Tesla at all you will like this. Too bad it only has 10 songs, hopefully they will put out another. The best songs on the album are: 2. 4 Leaf Clover, 3. Got A New Life, 8. She Don't, 10. American Dreams

I promise you that this disc is every bit as good as anything Tesla ever did..

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice interlude to TESLA'S return, August 28, 2001
This review is from: World Is a Freak (Audio CD)
First of all, if I ever get around to reviewing all of Tesla's albums in this format, I will give them all 5 stars. Tesla is one of the greatest and most underrated hard rock bands of all time! I can't call this quite as good as a Tesla album, but it is close enough to give the 5 stars. Jeff Keith's voice hasn't lost a thing! The modern edge to much of this album just makes it an even more interesting listen. "Freaked" gets the album off to a rocking start, and throughout the album there are a combination of rockers and "heartfelt" anthems or in a couple of cases ballads. Definitely a worthwhile purchase. Now, of course, Tesla is back together for real. Can't wait to buy their forthcoming live album. In the meantime, Bar 7 is one of the highest quality "side projects" I have ever heard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bar 7 ROCKS!, February 8, 2001

This is absolutely, without a doubt, the best purchase I've made during 2000. To hear Jeff Keith's powerful vocals, the lyrics that speak to your soul and the driving beat is something that's been missing from the music scene for way too long. For you Tesla fans, the music is reminiscent - mainly due to Jeff's vocal stylings, but I think Bar 7 will appeal to a whole new generation of "freaks"! This CD is a must have!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Rock-and-Roll is Back!, November 9, 2000
This review is from: World Is a Freak (Audio CD)
If you have been waiting for good rock-and-roll music, you have got to listen to this CD. Former Tesla members Jeff Keith and Tommy Skeoch are back and doing what they do best. All of the songs are great - my favorites are No Show, Cellophane, Gotta A New Life, 4 Leaf Clover, All Natural. Actually I love them all. Keith's vocals are as powerful as ever and Skeoch's guitar screams! Order this CD - you won't be dissapointed.

Great Rock-N-Roll. This is what it's all about. Jeff Kieth's lyrics touch you deep inside. He still has a great voice. Slightly toned down from his Tesla songs. Sings with more feeling. Great guitar riffs also. I love it!

It doesn't matter if you liked Tesla. If you like good rock and roll, you have to get this disc. From the opening power chords/riffs of "Freaked" to the last remaining decay on "American Dream," The World Is A Freak will blow your mind. Buy it. NOW.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just think of a Updated version of Tesla, August 9, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: World Is a Freak (Audio CD)
This is a must have cd, if you like Tesla, you will definately love this cd. It is very much like the "sit back and jam" sound of Tesla. I only had to listen to this 2 times and I was hooked, I can't get enough of it. Many of the 80's rock bands have reformed to tour and make a new album, but these guys basiclly did with a couple new faces and gave it a new name. It sounds like the old Tesla just updated a little. I would highly recommend it to any Tesla fan for sure!!
