No reviews yet?? Blasphemous! This is a great, fairly unheralded album from 1972 (lotsa great albums from then, in my opinion - musta been the Zeitgeist or whatever). Very imaginative, with guitar/bass/drums/saxophone/flute compositions that may make you laugh (and think) in spots. It's mostly instrumental, but not technical to the point of alienating non-musicians, I don't think (although the title track shifts gears a bit too much for its own good). I can't imagine anyone who digs Egg (the '70's British band), Henry Cow, or, as they say in the product description, Soft Machine and Frank Zappa not liking this. The last 4 tracks are from a later incarnation of the band (1980, I believe) and are simultaneously goofy and interesting, but not of the caliber of the earlier material. "Astromonster" is just killer! So if you're looking for a weird, quirky early '70's jazz rock album to add to yer collection, look no further. By the way, I would probably give it 4 stars instead of 5 (they wouldn't let me edit that).
