I LOVE these Schoolhouse lights. I had tiny brass fixtures in the upstairs hall of my Colonial before renovating and found these online for a GREAT price! They are the perfect size - not too small and not too large for the upstairs hallway. The shape has the old-world charm, yet brings the house into the 21st Century.

Classic schoolhouse charm at an affordable price and a small tradeoff: the fixture is lighter and the glass globe is thinner than you might expect from its sturdy looks or from how a real vintage piece might have been made. This isn't really a complaint (maybe if it breaks too easily, I'll come back an complain here).

World Imports probably figures that with the fixture up on the ceiling, out of the way of most trouble or bumps, the globe could be thinner than a true vintage piece might have been. A thinner globe means the rubbed bronze base can be thinner too. A thin globe and thin base mean that it arrives in a package that is amazingly light too, and so shipping is cheaper too.

Its a trade off I've mostly happily accepted, although it cost them a star and makes this a 4-star review.

This fixture is just perfect for my kitchen. The glass seemed very thin and was slightly rough around the edge, but not rough enough to cut you and
once up, very pleased. I'm using a cf bulb equal to 100 watts that should last. Therefore, won't have to worry about it again for quite some
time. At that price, I was tempted to get two so I also bought the one with the stem. They are fantastic together. Really set a nice mood.
The shipping was superlative. Arrived in 3 days! Go for it. You can change you decor in a couple of years and not feel guilty.

I ordered this fixture and then changed my mind on doing the remodel project.
I did examine the fixture and it was very nice for the cost.
The base has a unique look as well.

I really like the look of this light - although it was a bit larger than I expected - but that is my fault as the measurements are in the listing. I moved it to a different location and was able to find a matching fixture at Lowes that was the smaller.

We bought a couple of these lights, and they are big enough to put in the 100 watt equivilent CFL lights, which make them perfectly bright. Good value purchase.

I bought two of these to replace our hallway fixtures. They are simple, easy to install, and look great. Not heavy, pretty lightweight. The bronze finish is nice and smooth, no scratches or anything. I, however, purchased these when they were around $25 each, and it's currently a little less than double that right now. I personally wouldn't purchase them at double the price, but I don't think you'll be disappointed - though I would suggest googling around for these on other websites (I found them on other lighting websites in the $30 range).

I purchased 3 of this light for my new mudroom. The shipping was fast and the lights were received in perfect condition. The lights look terrific in my new space and appear to be far more expensive than what I paid. I would highly recommend this light!
