5.0 out of 5 stars What an amazing book.
This book was so hard to put down. It is the true story of a family who decides to add an older child from a foreign country to their home and ends up with 3 children, from 3 different countries, to love. Anyone who is considering adopting a child internationally, especially an older one should read this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars mediocre.....
I found this book pretty mediocre. It also drags and is not as easy to read as others. It was "ok" but I won't be recommending it to my adopting friends. The family's story is fine, but the mom is not really that great of a writer.

The idea of adoption has always appealed to me, so this book caught my eye. It's about a couple who adopt three girls from other countries in addition to having a biological daughter. They do this with a two bedroom house, so you can imagine the chaos!

I laughed and cried and found myself rooting for each member of the family as they traveled through uncharted territory. But now, I'm dying to know how things have turned out for them because it's been a few years since the book came out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding international older child adoption book, February 27, 2004
This review is from: A World Of Love (Hardcover)
Having read The Russian Word for Snow and the Baby Boat, and been extremely disappointed with both for their portrayal of women desperate for infants and their shell-shocked, though supportive, husbands, A World of Love was a truly wonderful portrayal of 2 very real people finding a need and a love in their hearts to expand their family through the adoption of 3 older girls. The author writes a descriptive, and very honest book that looks at the strains on the family and the joys and difficulties of each subsequent adoption. HIGHLY recommended to anyone pursuing (or considering) international adoption. Downright inspirational!
