5.0 out of 5 stars The Master Spy!, April 18, 2010
This review is from: World Out of Mind (PermaBooks, M-3027) (Mass Market Paperback)
J. T. McIntosh and JT M'Intosh are pseudonyms used by Scottish sci-fi writer James Murdoch McGregor (1925). He is a quite unknown & underrated author. I've read his short stories early in the `50s in legendary Argentinean sci-fi magazine "Mas Alla" and he was one of my favorite authors, so when I discover this paperback in an old books store I jump to buy it.

I'm just delighted, the novel has the genuine taste of `50s sci-fi but with the addendum, typical of M'Intosh, of credible characters subject not only to adventurous situation but to love, rage, desperation and altruism.

The story starts when Raigmore founds he is a human being full of general knowledge but with no personal story and no sentiments. He is a planted spy of an alien race in Earth with not specific plan but to pass proficiency test used in that time on Earth to establish rank and position.
Raigmore step by step near the summit and meanwhile he is more and more human but a crisis is its way: aliens will try to conquer the Solar System.

What will be Raigmore's reaction? Read the book and enjoy discovering it!

This book is a very good starting point to appreciate the author's writing style as it is his first novel.
