Riq Falls Apart, June 20, 2010
This review is from: World Percussion TA1309GV Remo Riq(Velez) 13X9 Lava Red (Electronics)
A note of caution about this riq: First it is a beautiful looking piece of work with a very good sound. However the drum frame is made of thin layers of wood laminate that soon begin to separate at the point where the 5 sets of jingles are attached by a single nail to the wood. At all five points you may find that the nail has begun to splay the wood layers which gradually separate. Next the nail falls out for lack of support and the jingles scatter from the drum at inconvenient moments. This happened to me in performance, and at this point I have only four functioning sets of jingles. The support bridge for the fifth set broke off completely after attempts to fortify the wood with various glues and adhesives. The deterioration process seems unstoppable. In my case it took two years of regular performance playing to get me to this point. Alas the end seems near for this powerful little frame drum! I'll be talking to Remo to see if or when they might choose to redesign this baby.

A-1 Seller, January 17, 2007
This review is from: World Percussion TA1309GV Remo Riq(Velez) 13X9 Lava Red (Electronics)
The product was exactly what we hoped for and the person we bought it for loved it. We placed the order, and it arrived within the time frame promised . What else can a buyer hope for.
Thanks
Francine
