Classic book; wrong Adelman,

This very old book is a classic on world oil that cuts through the nonsense that prevailed then and persists to this day. However, it was not Irma Adelman, but M.A. Adelman of MIT, who wrote the book and many other definitive studies of oil and energy. M.A. Adelman was the key to modern understanding of the world oil industry and contemporary politicians would benefit from exposure to his work. [Disclosure, I took classes from Adelman, he served on my doctoral committee, and was a great aid to me in my career. All this means that I have first-hand knowledge of his excellence.]
