This is a DVD of the World Poker Players Conference with seminars by Mike Caro, Daniel Negreanu, Lee Jones, and many more professional players. They discuss different types of strategies and winning concepts for the game. I especially enjoyed the No-Limit final table tournament strategy by Daniel Negreanu. I liked learning how these professional playes think when they play poker. I also play on the internet and Lee Jones does a great presentation on SitnGo tourneys. This DVD is a great value for the money. Almost 5 hours of quality material presented by professionals in an easy to understand format. The video and audio quality is very good. It was like I was sitting there at the seminar. Highly Recommend if you are looking to improve your game!

I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone who wants to improve their poker game! The DVD is a series of seminars by World Class Professional poker players. This is a 2 DVD set with almost 5 hours of strategy, question and answer, and winning poker concepts. I was surprised at how much I learned from these seminars since I have been playing limit and no-limit Hold'em online and in casinos for the last five years I figured that this would just be some basic concepts. However, these players address both beginning and advanced strategies that will benefit a player no matter their experience. Since I play much online I really liked Lee Jones seminar on No-Limit SitnGos and also Daniel Negreanu's seminar on No-Limit Final Table play. Mark Gregorich had some excellent advice on playing poker for a living. The video and audio quality of the DVD is very good as well. This is a live poker seminar and watching this DVD is almost as good as being there; it's better in the respect that you can view the material over and over again.

This DVD is an excellent source of poker information. It has helped me increase my bankroll. If you are a poker fanatic, this is one DVD you want in your collection.

I expected some warmed-over rehash of pot odds, etc. Was I surprised! This is not for the beginner, but is aimed at the intermediate that wants to advance.

Poker, as many of you know, is not a card game (it is a game that uses cards) it is a game of finance. This DVD has a lot of good advice about how to handle your chips, not your cards.

One tip alone (Mike Caro's New Year's Eve story) has allowed me to steal enough blinds to pay for the DVD.

Ignore it at your peril.

Sometimes I read through reviews to see if there is a consensus. This DVD set is very good and it is unfortunate when a review gets posted that is so far off. Most of the reviews here are positive and accurate so I won't rehash the same points. Just consider what one hour in a seminar from Daniel Negreanu on final table no-limit tournament holdem would be worth to you. The cost of this set is certainly less than the cost of that type of seminar.

I will agree that the Mike Caro portion is a re-run of his earlier material but that is it as far as finding the information here elsewhere.

Mark Gregorich's seminar on playing professionally is a huge eye opener to anyone considering poker as a work choice. He covers some very important aspects that might be overlooked by most people considering playing for a living. This is rarely discussed elsewhere and I have read a lot of poker books.

It is one of the more expensive poker DVD's out there but worth every dollar in my opinion. The majority of the reviews here are the wheat and the negative one is the chaff so throw it out and consider the value of what you do get in this set.There is much to learn here; it is not just entertainment. Highly recommended.

What is the World Poker Players Conference? It is an annual event that features world-class poker players and authorities presenting a full day of seminars to help improve the poker skills of those in attendance. The target audience is anyone who wants to become a better player, meet poker celebrities, and/or meet poker enthusiasts who share your passion for poker. This event took place at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. Games covered are limit hold'em, no-limit hold'em tournaments and Omaha The segments are, "How to Beat the No-limit Sit and Gos (single-table tournaments)" by Lee Jones. Topics include how sit and gos work and how to play them profitably. "Final-table Play" by Daniel Negreanu. Daniel takes you through playing a final table from nine-handed all the way to heads-up from varying chip positions. "Winning Poker Concepts" by Mike Caro. This hour will be filled with many valuable poker strategies that will enhance your skills. "How I've Survived as a Professional Poker Player for 10 Years in Las Vegas" by Mark Gregorich. Topics for this seminar will include money management, poker as a profession, playing tournaments vs. cash games, how a professional player acts and thinks, and game selection. "Maximize Your Poker Profits by Thinking Strategically" by Barry Tanenbaum. This seminar will cover how top players integrate position, their opponents? tendencies, their specific cards, pot odds, etc. "The Most Common Errors Made by Omaha/8 Players" by Mark Tenner and Linda Johnson. Learn how to eliminate costly mistakes from your Omaha/8 game. Question and Answer Session with a panel made up of Doyle Brunson, Roy Cooke, George Epstein, and Jennifer Harman. Audience members asked questions of the esteemed panel.

All information in these lectures can be found in other sources (Brunson's Super System, Caro's Book of Tells, etc.) in much, much greater detail. Of the hours and hours of information on this DVD, I found maybe 5% of it useful. For the price they're charging... that's not very good pot odds.

I am writing this review after having owned this DVD for 2 years.
I've watched it from start to finish just twice; to make sure I didn't miss anything--I didn't.

The only section that was passable was Daniel Negreanu's.

I cannot understand how people like Tannenbaum can get away with just babbling vague aphorisms (he does this in his other conference appearance too--seriously, who hired this guy, can he really play poker??). If you care to comment, I'll dig the DVD out again and give you straight quotes of nonsense from this DVD to convince you.

This DVD was near the bottom of my list of what are mostly pretty average DVDs out there, and I have viewed or bought practically everything out there.

Almost anything by Sklansky is vastly better. Let the discussion begin before I use this for a coffee coaster.
